The most important night of the year is drawing near . . . but not without a little trouble from the Underworld
Dullsville's newest night-faring intruder may be only a tween, but Raven knows that Valentine Maxwell, the younger sibling of two nefarious vampires, is a full-size menace. Valentine becomes even more of a threat when he befriends her brother, Billy. Raven must try to shield Billy, even as the biggest excitement of the year approaches . . . attending prom with her immortal love, Alexander. And while Alexander is one kind of vampire—sweet—Raven soon learns Valentine is another.
Could Valentine somehow know Raven's private thoughts about turning into a vampire?

engrossing... it leaves the reader satisafied yet craving more from the enriching tale. the author has a way of explaining the autmosphere so that the reader can feel the emotions as though they are in the story.
Goth Girl Growing Up
2008-07-31
The tone of this fourth installment in the series is a little different, and while our goth-girl heroine, sharp-tongued Raven Madison, might be juggling her qualms and excitement over the junior prom with helping her "knight of the night" Alexander trace an especially tricksy young vampire named Valentine (who has his fangs set on her geeky younger brother), she's clearly growing up and reaching that stage where she's starting to question herself, the persona she's established, and her own place in the world. You get the feeling she's growing past the "kindergothen" stage and into the deeper aspect of the Goth mentality, going from a consumer of Goth kitsch to a person unafraid to stare down the dark things that the average person tends to shuffle past, whistling. She's even questioning if she's really meant to be Alexander's true vampire-mate, and while I felt a little let-down at the cliff-hanger end, I'm still looking forward to seeing where she goes and where her self-awareness takes her and her relationship with Alexander.
Receive the book on time

The book was delivered on time. My daughter wants to read the series in order, but she didn't receive book 2 yet, so she hasn't read the book yet.
LOVED ALL THE BOOKS

Great books gave them as a present to my younger sister and she loved them.
YAY!
2008-03-27
The book is great, just a little short but that is ok the author is writing more in the nest book. With this being the fouth book is the series, it is not critical that you read the first three, but it makes the story a lot fuller. Good price, great shipping.
I'd Rate This Book 50/5

Thirsting for More

This book was definitely not what I had expected, but proved itself to be a book that you will realy want to sink your teeth into. Unlike most series, each book starts where rite at the point the last one ended. The end of the book left me antagonized knowing that I have to wait almost a year for the next book, just to find out what happes between the two teens we have all come to love. I would not recomend reading this book until the fifth book becomes available.
More Drivel

Ellen Schreiber's newest book-
I picked up and read the first "Vampire Kisses" novel thinking it was a joke, and enjoyed it as such. It's terrible writing and horridly cliched plot were hilarious parody on all the crappy vampire fan-fics online... then I realized that the woman was serious.
With the plot-outline too juvenile for a high-school creative writing class and skill with a pen to match, Schreiber created what I consider to be the best, bad novels I've ever read. Like the "Friday the 13th" series, she's beating to death a crappy concept with poor execution.
This fourth installment, however, is far less entertaining. While the first few are worth a quick read and a scoff, the third getting repetitious, and this fourth one is just tiresome. Maybe it'd be funnier still if it were actually a joke- unfortunately, she (and her fans) actually believe there's something profound here.
Left me hanging

Although the story was interesting, it was almost the same plot as book 2 + 3 (sinister aquaintances of Alexander stalk Dullsville). And Raven and Alexander went to another school dance. Trevor is still a loser with an attitude. Alexander leaves (end of story). "Insert Book 5 here"
