My daughter said that my grandchildren---especially the older ones--6 and 8--liked this book--and she liked it as well!

I bought this book for my grandson after seeing Jeff Foxworthy interviewed. This has fast become my grandsons favorite book. My son tells me that he is reading it to him every day. Written with humor and at a level most children would love.

Dirt on My Shirt I bought this per a request from my 80 year old mother who is very religious... for my granddaughter, her great-granddaughter who both LOVE it...Excellent book....for all ages!
ADORABLE - and a great gift

This is so cute - the rhymes are simple and easy to remember. They are enough of a challenge for a small child, yet "meaty" enough to grant them a sense of mastery at memorizing them.
I cannot WAIT to give this book as a gift for my grand-nephew's birthday!

When I watched Harry Smith (CBS Early Show) and Jeff Foxworthy reading excerpts from Foxworthy's Dirt On My Shirt, I knew I had to purchase it for my 6 year-old great-granddaughter. It has arrived. I've read it and can't wait for her next visit so we can read it together. I covet every moment I have with her, and I think reading Foxworthy's clever rhymes with her "gram-gram" will be a memory she'll forever cherish.

This is a cute book of funny poems. I think it is a great book for 3-8 yr olds, but I don't know what the real rating is. I love to read this to my kids!
Dirt is great!

This book is beautifully done and my grandson loved it. I surely hope Jeff does another. So simple yet elegant, for a Redneck even...

Dirt on My ShirtI bought this book as an Easter gift for my grandaughter, age 3. She loved it when I read it to her but I think as she grows older she will enjoy it more, especially when she comes to know who Jeff Foxworthy is.
Artwork A, poems C

This kids' poetry book is worth buying for the fluid illustrations, but the poems are a bit uninspired. One called "Sharing a Bed" reads: "Sharing a bed with your cousins, Is not the easiest thing, They toss and they turn, They giggle and snore, And sometimes, They just like to sing."
Nothing wrong with that, but it's no Dr. Seuss or Shel Silverstein.
But back to the art. Every page has a colorful pen-and-ink over watercolor that tells a story. A double-spread painting for "What Do You See?" includes a list of 33 things to search for. Another of "Uncle Keith" eating corn on the cob has him munching so fast he's a blur.
For more creative wordplay, check out Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends as well as that late author's "new" title Don't Bump the Glump!.
