Amazing, but has many spoilers 2008-09-06
If you are wondering what Warriors is, let me put it this way: it is a preteen series about forest cats who live in England in large groups called "Clans." The Clans go by the names of ThunderClan, ShadowClan, WindClan and RiverClan. "Cats of the Clans" is a very useful guide to the series of AMAZING books, and the illustrations are enchantingly incredible. The text is very descriptive, and it is a great book for pleasure or for reference. However, through its worthy veil, the texts of the cat descriptions sometimes give everything away, like so-in-so dies or so-in-so has kittens. I think Erin Hunter could do a better job of flicking spoilers off the pages.

Great book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2008-08-21

Learn the secrets of the clan cats 2008-08-14
Reviewed by Austin McCredie (age 13) for Reader Views (8/08)

"Warriors: Cats of the Clans" is the story (told to three kits going to StarClan) of some of the most important cats in the Clans' lives that they never knew or would know. From the just ThunderClan to the battle-hungry ShadowClan, you learn some things you have never known or even thought of about the Clan Cats. Erin Hunter gives you new insight about your favorite cats of the Warrior series.

Erin Hunter wraps together many of the Cats spread throughout the series. Many cats we hardly remember are brought back to mind. I myself forgot about some of the Cats and what we remember them for. One of the Cats, Yellowfang, I completely forgot about -- "Brave, loyal Yellowfang, who fought enough battles for nine lifetimes."

I remember every cat now and have learned little details about each Cat that were never seen before. This is much better than the previous Field Guide and puts it to shame with what you learn. This book is complete with maps and full-color illustrations. The writing is from the viewpoint of one of the Cats, Rock. You feel like he is speaking to you. The flow of the book is so good; you don't see it as separate pages, but as one long telling. Although, sometimes I had to re-read something to fully understand what Erin Hunter was saying. The wording is very deep and confusing at points, but it helps add to understanding each Cat.

I am a huge fan of the Warrior series. I started reading the books in about fourth grade and haven't stopped since. The "Warriors: Cats of the Clans" has been a huge help to understanding the Cats a little more than just relying on the actual books to help you. I think this new book from Erin Hunter is a huge help to every true Warrior reader out there. New doors are opened through this book and new meanings to why each Cat behaved like he or she did.

Anyone who wants to re-meet the Cats of this wonderful series should get "Warriors: Cats of the Clans." Cats who we once knew, or that we are now being introduced to, or in the upcoming books, are here and have some things to tell you -- all you have to do is listen.

Warriors: Cats of the Clans 2008-08-11
As usual, Erin Hunter, has done an excellent job. This is a must have for all Warrior book lovers.

Warriors - Cats of the Clans 2008-08-08
Really enjoyed this book! I loved seeing the illustrations of the different cats, even though many were left out or not fully illustrated. There aren't many new details here, but the stories were well done and the drawings beautiful. 5 stars!

My Grandaughter loves these books 2008-07-18
My grandaughter (age 13)loves these books. Since she got hooked less than a year ago she has read them all. She and her friends devour each new book that comes out, and are also great fans of the Warriors web site.

Beautiful art 2008-07-14
The art is captivating in this! Illustrations make it definitely worth the buy, even if it's pretty short. I liked the style, and does Rock remind anyone of one of the three Erins with the way that he knows everything that's going to happen and hints at things, leaving us wishing for more? (hint: Vicky :P)

The character bios are great, but not very in-depth, and told us pretty much what we already knew. With the exception of a few hints, like in Firestar's profile, where Rock wishes him a long and happy life and says something along the lines of "empty words from me, since I know how every one of his nine lives are going to end." Which led me to believe that Firestar would die this series. (Nooo! I'll miss him!)

Once again - the art is incredible and makes the book worthwile! Tigerclaw looks incredibly cute for a villain. I would cuddle with him if he were a real cat.

It's finally here!!!! 2008-07-01
When Cats of the Clans came, I sat down and read it with my friend, Gabrielle, who is also a Warriors fan, on my couch (which is the same spot I read Secrets of the Clans) and we were emmersed into a beautiful world of fantastically painted pieces of art that displayed many of our favorite heroes and loated vilians.

I admired the cleverness of how the book was set up. Rock, a long dead ancient cat from before the Clans came to the forest is in his cave on his part of StarClan when three kits who died at young ages from different Clans (including Bluestar's dead son, Mosskit) wander into Rock's cave. It is to dark for the kits to go back to StarClan's grounds, so Rock passes the time by telling them about cats of the clans.

We get to see gorgeous paintings of cats from Firestar and Tigerstar to kittypets like Smudge and BloodClan cats like Scourge. When we finally hut the book, I was able to gather my thoughts and opinions about this book.

The paintings are well done, but some pictures hide most of the cat, like Tigerstar's. He is peering out of a hole in some rock, scowling at us. I wanted to have pictures of the cats fully made, not half of them. and like Graystripe and Millie's pictures, you only see a bit of their heads. With Leapardfur, you couldn't really see why she's got leapard in her name. And there are NO pcitures of some of my favored warriors, like Whitestorm (he's AWESOME!!!!!), Lionheart, Redtail, and Spottedleaf. This really got me annoyed.

Other cats didn't look like how I pictured them. Silverstream looked fat from how we saw her and not quite as pretty as the manga books, and we don't get to see Cloudtail or Brook, though they're listed.

But still, it is a very well done piece of art, and I tip my hat to the painter and author. Alas, it could have been better (and thicker- it was WAY too short) but the author ignored this.
Yes, yes, buy this product. You'll love it, though be disappointed at some parts.

I really liked this book because it described the different characters of each clan and it had good pictures.
