Beautiful book, but . . .
2008-02-06
My grandson enjoys I'm a Big Brother more than he does this book and My New Baby.
I like the artwork in this book more than what's in the others, but I guess graphical images aren't everything.
Who knows . . . maybe "The New Baby" isn't my grandson's favorite because he thinks his Mom is better looking than the one in this book?
Love it

Critter books are our favorites and this one is another great one. It's funny but educational at the same time. The new baby is a she -- that could be an issue for some. We really love it.

My son loves Mercer mayer, and since we are having a new baby soon, he really has been enjoying this book.
Simple and To the Point
2008-01-05
My son is 27 months and we are expecting in 4 months. He likes reading the 'baby' book every night. It is simple with great illustrations. Good for the little ones.
Not the best new sibling book
2007-12-04
My toddler loves Little Critter so I ordered this thinking it would help prepare him for his new sibling. I wish I had checked it out at the library first. The parents tell LC about the baby the day before she comes home (was Mrs Critter never pregnant?) and when she arrives she looks and acts like a 4+ month old baby, not a newborn infant. She also only gets a bottle, which may confuse your child if you breastfeed/fed. My son thought they were giving the baby a bottle of glue. I would look this over at the library or bookstore before purchasing it.
Really Cute!

My 2 1/2 year old son really enjoys this book. I think it has helped him understand what it will be like to have a baby in the house. I thought it was really cute. The only thing I thought the book didn't really address was the fact that the older child will be getting less attention after baby comes. It would have been nice to have a page showing the older child playing on his own while Mommy changes baby's diaper or feeds baby. Other than that, a really cute book!
Not the usual Little Critter book
2008-05-27
I bought this book for my 2-year-old before we brought baby #2 home from the hospital. It's a cute book, as all Little Critter books are, but it lacks the substance and creativity in the other books.
Pretty good

Enjoyed the ideas for how big sibling can interact w/new baby.
My 2-yr old wasn't impressed though, and is still too physically rough to do the suggestions, which are more for an infant + big sibling than a newborn + 2 yr old.
great for older siblings

my son is 4 and we recently turned him on to the little critter series. he absolutely adores the whole line and now that we're expecting another baby he's gotten really excited and loves for us to read this book to him.
Just OK

This book is just OK. A little odd and not that well written. Not really valuable in preparing a little one to become an older sib.
