Editorial Review
A terrible fire in a wealthy suburban home leaves a married couple dead and Detective Lindsay Boxer and her partner Rich Conklin searching for clues. And after California's golden boy, Michael Campion has been missing for a month, there finally seems to be a lead in his case--a very devastating lead.

As fire after fire consume couples in wealthy, comfortable homes, Lindsay and the Murder Club must race to find the arsonists responsible and get to the bottom of Michael Campion's disappearance. But suddenly the fires are raging too close to home.

Frightened for her life and torn between two men, Lindsay must find a way to solve the most daunting dilemmas she's ever faced--at work and at home.

Love the series, but was disappointed 2008-07-05
I've been a Women's Murder Club fan for a while now, and have loved every other book in the series; however, this one left me feeling a bit disappointed. I'm not sure what it was exactly but I felt it didn't live up to the previous 6 books in the series.

7th Heaven 2008-06-26
I am a huge fan of the Women's Murder Club novels. I want more, more, more.

Very disappointed 2008-06-22
I've been a fan of The Women's Murder Club series for a long time and did enjoy each book, however, James Patterson's new one, 7th Heaven, is a big disappointment. There was no character substance. There was basically 2 stories going on in this book; one was about a missing rich kid and the other story of 2 kids who started fires and killed people. Both stories had no depth and both were uninteresting. As I was reading this book, I had hoped the stories would develop more and get more interesting, but both were flat. It felt like James Patterson just was in such a rush to get another Women's Murder Club book out, he threw it together with no thought.
It's a good thing I didn't buy this book and got it from the library!
Save your money and don't buy this book

The Women's Murder Club series is 7th Heaven! 2008-06-11
What an excellent series! I was not a James Patterson reader until after I started watching the Women's Murder Club on ABC. Then I went out and bought all of the books in the series! Each one can stand on it's own but you really need to read them in order for the goings-on of the central characters. Too bad the bozos at ABC cancelled the show before giving it a solid chance. The show may be gone, but the books are still here and so worth reading!! Thank you Mr. Patterson. I'm already looking forward to the 8th one.

Reminded me of a soap opera 2008-06-05
Interesting with twists and turns and complicated storylines, which is why 4 stars. However, the serialized missing person and the serial arsonist plots were too serial and reminded me: years ago I knew a person who wrote for a popular Soap. There were a bunch of people who wrote the treatments for each hour show. I've read treatments, and this reminded me of those. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but it's not what I hoped to read. Classic thriller mysteries: pursuit of a psychopath Ghost in the Rainbow or completely cerebral A Taste For Death or scientifically methodical with slower pace One Corpse Too Many: The Second Chronicle of Brother Cadfael

Enjoyed it, light reading. 2008-06-04

Disappointing 2008-06-04
I am sorry to say that I have to agree with those other reviewers that found this newest entry into the "Women's Murder Club" series to be a disappointment.
The whole plot line with the prostitute who confesses to being with the "golden" boy at the time of his death was thin to the point of being transparent. I find it very hard to believe that any D.A. would take a case to court where the only thing you have is an untaped confession with no substantiating evidence. As far as the ending in this case, I suspected something of this sort from the very beginning of the story, no big surprise or tension here at all.
The second plot line was much more interesting but since I was already disgusted by the first plot, I found it hard to get interested in the second.
Overall, if you are new to the series, start with one of the other books and skip this one. Hopefully, the next in the series will get back to good storytelling.

Disapointng! 2008-06-04
Normally I love anything by James Patterson, and especially the series "Women's Murder Club" until this one. It just never seemed to get into gear. I missed the energy and excitement that keeps me on the edge of my seat when reading his books. Wonder if there'll be an 8th??

He's Done Way Better 2008-06-04
7th Heaven was just an "Okay" read. Something I'm not used to saying when it comes to James Patterson's novels. While it did keep me entertained for the most part, it was lacking what I loved most about the WMC books...which was the relationship between the four women and and all of them actually having a part in solving the cases. It also focused entirely too much on Lindsay Boxer's personal life. I can take it in small doses, but this was like half the cases and half her love life. This book focused more on Lindsay and Yuki as opposed to the rest of them. Claire only played a minor role and Cindy (who is by far my favorite character in the show and in the books) has been reduced to mere cameos.

So, like I said, it at least kept me mildly entertained, but I still couldn't get past the fact that this was focused mostly on one woman instead of the women as a whole. The ending although "shocking" was a bit far-fetched. I still recommend the book, though.

save your money 2008-06-02
Unless your going to medical school and need to know what happens to a burned body I see no reason to buy/read this book. I like the murder club, but this was a waste. Take out the "burned bodies" descriptions and the book is only a 125 pages! Give me a break you can do better!
