My daughter loves this book. I love all the Sears' books. I would recommend all of their books.
good choice

This book is well presented and has a lot of information for parents at the beginning and some suggestions throughout the book. Most of the illustrations are of boys and I would have preferred some of girls because I bought this for my daughter but it is fine because it is a good way to start the conversation about the difference when she is ready.
Great book for AP and "crunchy" parents

My son loved this book from the time we got it. In fact he is now 3 1/2 and had been using the potty for quite some time and he still asks to read it. Loved it's pro-breastfeeding slant. Also really appreciated its talk about diapers as we used cloth and always dropped the poopy in the toilet when they were dirtied. (Packages of disposables also tell you to do that actually as it is considered bio-hazardess waste) However, if you are not pro-breastfeeding and are uncomfortable speaking frankly about body functions, then this wouldn't be the book for you and there are probably many other books out there that would suit you better. Highly recommend this book!
shows nursing and co-sleeping

Unlike most books, this book pictures a mother nuring her baby and a co-sleeper. I am not fond of the cartoon illustrations, but they are not terrible (I usually prefer photos instead). My 19 mo. old daughter loves this book.
For older children learning to go potty.

This book has lots of great info for parents as well as nice pictures, but it's written for older kids who can already speak well and ask complicated questions. It seems like it's aimed toward children over 2 1/2, most of whom are already in the process or done learning to use the potty. I do think the notes for parents will be useful for me.
Great book for beginner potty trainers
2007-05-14
This is a really great book. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that our daughter was almost done with potty training but regressed a bit for a few days after reading this (The book says it's ok to have accidents, and she was past this point in her training & got a bit confused). Now we simply skip a few pages & she's doing really well agian. I like that in the book the whole family is involved in the potty training & it's not presented in a silly or embarassing manner.
The text is very easy to adapt to our family -- we make it personal to our daughter whenever we read it. The tips for parents at the beginning are a great feature that I haven't seen in other books like this, and there are lots of little extras throughout the story for inquisitive kiddos.

This book was not as helpful as I was expecting.
Attachment Parenting Potty Training Aid
2007-05-07
My husband and I practice attachment parenting and like the illustrations in this book. However, the text is a bit much for our one year old, so we are going to wait awhile before we reintroduce the book. Thinking a child may need to be at least 18 months for this book. Also, my husband commented that they forgot to show the bags under your eyes that are inevitable when practicing attachment parenting. :) Most likely not a favorite for those who disagree with attachment parenting.
Good book for children and parents

We liked the book. It explains to the child the process of going potty and plus has good tips for the parents
Great for both parents and kids!

My 2 year old son and I both love this book. He loves the potty story and I love all the great guidance it gives parents who are mostly clueless when it comes to potty training. It is wonderfully illustrated and easy for even toddlers to understand.
