Anatomy Coloring Workbook

The human body is wondrously complex, with 700 muscles, 206 bones, and countless cells and tissues. Studying and remembering all of them can be overwhelming.

The Anatomy Coloring Workbook gives you a clear and concise understanding of anatomy. The interactive approach to learning anatomy through coloring takes less time than memorizing from textbooks and flashcards. The coloring process thoroughly fixes anatomical concepts in your mind, and when you need to recall the material, you’ll be able to visualize the body structures.

The diagrams and plates in the Anatomy Coloring Workbook have been created electronically, to give you a sharp, precise rendering of anatomical structures. We fully explain the concepts behind each coloring lesson to make the learning experience complete. We include an introductory section on anatomical terminology to get you started, coloring suggestions to assist you, and labels for easy identification and reference.

This book is an invaluable resource for students of anatomy, physiology, biology, psychology, nursing, medical technology, health administration, fitness education, nutrition, art, and more.

Medical practitioners, dentists and dental hygienists, physical and occupational therapists, educators, and professionals in scores of other fields will also find directed coloring a helpful means of review.

The 125 plates in the book are organized into the following sections:

Introduction to Anatomy
The Skeletal System
The Muscular System
The Nervous System
The Endocrine System
The Circulatory System
The Digestive System
The Respiratory System
The Urinary System
The Reproductive System

Easy enjoyable way to help memorize anatomy! 2008-07-25
I homeschool ALL my 7 kids (4 are through college & grown, 3 remain, ages 9 -15) My 9 year old is in Algebra 1, & my 15 year old is in Calculus & physics, so they keep me going looking for ways to incorporate "learning" new info or reviewing "past" studies, without it being sooooo dry & boring! Let's face it some things just are tedious!! So this is a remarkably refreshing way to "review" or learn the body parts, almost effortlessly! One of my older children, when they were in college (pre-med) suggested this book, & we were very pleased with the results!! Give it a try, you should be delighted, as was I!

Must have for those studying for a career in the medical field 2008-05-16
This publication is very informative and helpful learning material. I received straight A's in anatomy because of the help of this book.

Not worth it 2008-05-14
I was very disapointed in this book. The first caption I loked over had errors in the writing. I also found errors in the labeling of the drawings. Although the information provided is helpful overall, I am wary to use it for review due to its inaccuracies.

Great and Not-So-Great 2007-03-17
This book was good for me because it was affordable, has great pictures, covers everything I wanted, and has a simple format.

However, one needs to pay close attention when reading (which if you're studying you are) as I've noticed A LOT of typos - as in putting in the wrong word (usually repeating a word in the smae unit in the wrong place). Usually directionals.

There is also some conflicting and incomplete info. Sometimes information that is in one unit is different when presented in another unit. And some things are explained in great detail and others not - I assume this part is based on their decision on what should be included, as not everything can.

So, if you look out (I'm assuming there's no huge mistakes, but then I've never learned anatomy before, and what I did know is the same) it's a very fun, affordable, and informative book. Very user friendly, and almost designed too well for dummies - which is difficult considering the topic (a couple units are too complicated, like the skull, to not be confusing).

Depends on what you want! I would NOT use this for a class, unless they were younger, weren't going to directly need anatomy for their chosen field, or as a prep for an anatomy class.

More than a Workbook 2006-08-28
This book is better than the Anatomy Coloring Book. Everything is organized by system. And the info that accompanies the diagrams state important facts to anatomy. It gave me an appropriate summary of my anatomy text.

One suggestion: Write your anatomy notes on the workbook pages. If you're covering the hepatic portal system in class, take notes on the Hepatic Portal System section. That way, you have the workbook's info, your class notes, and the supporting diagram. Condensed notes all in one location.

This is a great book. I've recommended it to all my classmates and everyone else I meet in anatomy.

An excellent book 1999-07-27
I used to use the Kapit with my students. It's still a fine book, but the images in this book are 10 times better, and the text is more readable. A beautifully designed guide - and for a lot less money.
