Ash,Pikachu,Misty,Togepi,and Brock are lost in a forest full of illusions. Hoothoot has the power to see through illusions,but there's something wrong with the Hoothoot they rented from Hagatha. Hoothoot likes Misty but doesn't like Ash. It won't listen to him and it attacks him. Hoothoot only listens to Misty. Creppy noises, balls of light,and dozens of Ashes. Will Team Rocket get away with Pikachu? Misty is the only one who belives in Hoothoot. Will it help her when see needs it the most?Then it's off to Cattailia City to help Officer Jenny catch the impersonator of the famous jewel theif the Black Arachnid. Her great-grandmother caught the oringal Black Arachnid with a Spinarack. Will history repeat its self? In a park in the middle of a town Brock finds a baby Stantler. Can Brock make the baby Stantler trust him? All of the sudden a herd of Stantle charge at Brock,Ash,and Misty. Team Rocket wants to catch the Stantler. It's up to Brock to get the Stantler back with it's heard and keep it away from Team Rocket. I like this book beacuse it is full of suprises.
