Editorial Review
Young wizard-in-training Harry Potter has had his hands full during his first three years at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As if studying spells and pleasing professors isn't enough, Harry has heard evil voices in the walls, rescued petrified students, fended off convicts escaped from magicians' prison, and played elaborate and grueling games of Quidditch. Between school sessions, he summers with the horrendous Dursleys, who seem to want nothing more than to crush our hero's spirit. Only time will tell how Harry will manage the certain dangers and escapades in store for him over the next few years.

The first three titles--in paperback--of J.K. Rowling's phenomenally popular series are now available in a handy boxed set, perfect for the legions of children whose big brothers and sisters have made off with their copies. These adventures are surely on the road to becoming classics; don't wait to collect them! The set includes Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. (Ages 9 and older) --Emilie Coulter

Intereting books, but weak cover. 2007-08-24
Good as a present. Interesting books, but don't buy them if you are going to read them 3+ times. Soft cover break down fast. Spend extra money for hard cover.

AZKABAN 2004-05-28
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is a very interesting book that captures your imagination from the very beginning until the very end. This book starts out like every other Harry Potter book, but you quickly get involved in the plot. Early in the book you discover Harry's parents died (which is one of the main secrets of the Harry Potter series). Many new characters are introduced into the book. Some of them become instant favorites and you immediately hate. J.K. Rowling makes the new characters seem believable even though they are strange and mysterious. One of the new teachers was one of Harry's father's friends, so Harry quickly becomes friends with the teacher and finds out many things of his father. Before the year ends, Harry is forced to confront the man who is supposedly responsible for his parent's deaths, but the mortal combat ends in a conclusion that you would never suspect. I really enjoyed this book and I hope you will too.

Binding will not hold up to hard use 2003-01-03
My two children have already worn out a set of hardback Harry Potter books, so I don't know why I thought a paperback set would survive any better. Maybe I thought since they had read the others at least three times each that this set wouldn't get the same wear. I was wrong. My children (and husband) keep reading these books over and over. And the books are starting to fall apart. When they wear this set out, I'll get the best hardback set I can find! If your set won't get this kind of wear, it is a fine set.

the amazing Harry Potter 2002-11-16
It was b4 the release of the 1st harry potter movie that prompted me to read the books. At the time, it was big news about the upcoming movie, everybody was talking about it. So i was just really curious about the books and wondered why they're so famous. And i went to the library and borrowed the 2nd book, and once i started reading it, i couldn't stop laughing nor could i stop reading. cuz it's just so good! you can just totally put urself into the book, it's like a whole new world. it's just like "magic"!!lol. and then i read the 1st and the 4th book in one week. now i've read all of them so far and i've also seen the first and the second movie just tonite. and i can't wait to read the 5th one. if u haven't read any of the harry potter books, u should. they're awesome. really!!

Can't go wrong! 2002-10-03
What a awesome set of books, I wasn't sure at first if I would like these, but I started to read them and went through the first 2 in less then a week, Her style of writting is like no other, I actually never found myself board, which is hard to find now-a-days.
The 3rd book is pretty long, but just as wonderful as the first 2, and 4 just rules!

Outstanding 2002-08-01
To each their own, but I think anyone who hasn't read this books who says they are bad or satanic should read book 1. I found the story-line to be wonderful and peaceful and joyful to read. Obviously Rowling doesn't need my input or sales to keep her going, but I still have to say the books are fantastic and I highly recommend them!

Harry Potter My review 2002-07-06
Harry Potter in the 3 books experience talking with snakes, meeting Lord Voldemort, and experienceing and learning lods of spells and enchantments. If you are into magical and mystial these are the books for you. Who is Harry Potter you might ask/ well he is just a famous wizard who is being taught enchantments and spells at the finest school around/ Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry/ who is under the finest headmaster hogwarts has ever seen Albus Dumbledoor. You have got to read these books if you have not already they are imaginative and creative Joe Rowling is so amazing and you will not be able to put her books down. So read Harry Potter if you have not already it's worth it!!!!!!

Excellent 2002-07-02
So. The Harry Potter phenomenon. It seems anywhere one looks, you'll see Harry Potter, whether it's these new action figures at Wal-Mart or it's the new movie. I decided I would find out what the world was so absorbed in, and picked up the first three books. What can I say? I haven't enjoyed reading something this much in a LONG time. Cleverly written and chock full of fascinating characters, the reader is immediately transported to a magical world of house ghouls and crazy little elf things that bang themselves on the head. "Sorcerer's Stone" is just a great story that will leave you completely surprised. "Chamber of Secrets" kept me on the edge of my seat, with the character of Gilderoy Lockhart, the pompous overblown wizard inciting me to laugh out loud. (and remember, Kenneth Branaugh is going to be portraying him in the next film!) "Prizoner of Azkahban" also kept me holding my breath, with such a delightful twist at the end you will be shaking your head for days. Get someone to be reading it with you, because you're going to want to talk about it when you're done. Rowling has created an entirely believable world, and it is a delightful treat to take a break and visit your imagination. The game of quidditch is always a fun time, as well as the crazy episodes Harry and his friends always find themselves in. Pick these books up, you won't be dissappointed.
