great illustrations, quick read, good board book

You know as a grown up I thought this book was silly because it has no story (we got it from our ped). My daughter loves it! It is so simple with pictures that fill the pages. The words are ones she recognized first so when you say them with gusto the book is just. . .fun! We now own all the board books from David Shannon and have started to go into the older books.

We received this book as a gift when my son was born, and he's been captivated by it from about 4 months old even till now, at age 2. Simple words but lively illustrations with just enough humor to make it interesting to parents as well. I recommend the whole series of "diaper david" books and can't wait for my son to get a little older to introduce "No David" to him.
Diaper David Board Books 2007-12-27
I gave my 2 and a half year old niece these books (Oh David, Oops, and David Smells board books along with the little David doll) for Christmas. She wanted me to read them to her over and over that day. Just got a message from my sister-in-law saying that my niece was up first thing the next day "reading" the books to herself over and over. Great set to get little ones interested in books and words.

We read David books to our grandsons....and they are ages 8,5 and 4. Each one of them enjoys this little guy's antics...I think because they can so totally RELATE!!! and the pictures are amazingly amusing....any David book is great!!!

Both my kids related to ALL of Shannon's book's. We own them all. The imaginative parent doesn't need a whole lot of words...because the pictures tell you what to add lib. AWESOME, my kids wanted to hear these over and over.
This book changed our lives! 2008-04-23
We read these books when my son was about 18 months. He was resisting diaper changes and nap time. After reading this books he would say, "Jeffrey PU" and let me change him. The end of the book shows the mom cuddling with David with David's eyes closed. We talked about how he was happy and sleeping. We would read it at bed time and nap time and my son would be okay going in his crib with no fuss after reading it. Now my son is 2 1/2 and David has come to the rescue again. In "David goes to school" there is a page where David needs to go to the bathroom. This simple book with wild illustrations helped my son pee in the potty for the first time. Super. These books are great!

My family loves this book so much, we named our 3rd child after it. Yes, my kids named our 3rd child David! So yes, it is a very cute book. All the David Shannon books are great!
For teaching words 2008-02-27
Great for teaching first words. My doctor recommended this. Each page has a creative picture that my baby loves. It has just a couple simple words with sounds that are easy for baby to immitate so it's nice for teaching a baby who is just beginning to talk.
