Holds attention of babies

We started reading this book at 5 months. By 8 mos my son would point to familiar objects like the bathtub ducky. It is long enough to have substance, but short enough to hold the attention of the youngest reader. Minimal words, mostly drawn pictures. My son is a year now and still likes it; this one also features beginner words like DOG and BATH.

I bought these books for my two year old son whose name is David. He likes to hear his name in the story.

My nine month old absolutely LOVES this book! It's the craziest thing; he literally squeals with excitement when I read it to him and tries to turn the pages in anticipation of what's next. I end up reading it over and over (which is not difficult since the whole thing has about ten words) because he gets very upset when it ends. Yes, it is utterly simplistic, but it is also surprisingly captivating for little ones. To those who criticize: I am sure this book is meant for those with very short attention spans and little knowledge of the English language. It's a BABY book!

excellent board book

We received this book as a gift when my son was born, and he's been captivated by it from about 4 months old even till now, at age 2. Simple words but lively illustrations with just enough humor to make it interesting to parents as well. I recommend the whole series of "diaper david" books and can't wait for my son to get a little older to introduce "No David" to him.

I gave my 2 and a half year old niece these books (Oh David, Oops, and David Smells board books along with the little David doll) for Christmas. She wanted me to read them to her over and over that day. Just got a message from my sister-in-law saying that my niece was up first thing the next day "reading" the books to herself over and over. Great set to get little ones interested in books and words.

Baby loves the trouble David gets into. Simple Spanish version of the No David series. Illustrations are great and the words are big enough for Abuela to read.

David Shannon is great at portraying the irritations children bring to a parent in a very loving and fun way. My daughter discovered this author and shared him with me--all his books are truly wonderful.

Wonderful illustrations great beginning reader book!

Wonderful use of humor, simple vocabulary and charming illustrations. As a former teacher, I HIGHLY recommend this little book. My 3 1/2 year old grandson was enchanted and literally laughed until he was weak.

Eleven Month Old's Textbook

My eleven month old daughter studies this book with alarming intensity! This is always one of the first ones she picks out to read. And it's one that I can read to both her and my 3.5 year old, and that he can read to her.
