Editorial Review
Hey! What's that smell?! Join David as he discovers the five senses: touch, hear, see, smell, and taste. From petting the dog to banging on a drum, David knows how to have a good time. But he also knows that there's nothing better than playing a game with Mama at the end of a busy and exciting day. With the same irresistible humor and vibrant style as his award-winning No, David! books, David Shannon takes us back to the "early years" of his most beloved character. Perfect for beginning readers as well as for the youngest children!

My son's favorite book by far.....we've read it hundreds of times & he still reaches for this one first! This book in the Diaper David series is the thickest & best in quality of the three.

I gave my 2 and a half year old niece these books (Oh David, Oops, and David Smells board books along with the little David doll) for Christmas. She wanted me to read them to her over and over that day. Just got a message from my sister-in-law saying that my niece was up first thing the next day "reading" the books to herself over and over. Great set to get little ones interested in books and words.
David does it again!

I am such a fan of Shannon's work! GREAT illustrations, simple vocabulary, totally amusing stories that pre-school or primary grade children can really identify with PLUS no matter how outrageous David's behavior each book ends with the assurance that while we might deplore the behavior...we always LOVE the child. Absolutely excellent on all levels!
David May Smell, But The Book Does Not!

I got hooked on the "David" series of books while teaching preschoolers who LOVED to hear of David's adventures.
I was pleased one day about a year and a half ago when I saw this one being sold, along with the other "Diaper David" books. These are hardboard books perfect for ages 3 and under with the same charisma found in the other David books that makes it's reader giggle and laugh, or even sympathize with his shenanigens. He's a hoot and we own every book about David (and all the books the author has wrote) because of how much we enjoy them!
In this particular book , with very few words, you learn about the 5 senses... seeing, hearing, taste, touch, and smell. It's comical yet educational. My almost 2 year old LOVES it and all the others.
If you have not read a "David" book then get one.... you and your child will love it! For those of you who own or have read a "David" book then I don't really need to say much else because you know how great these books are!
Another great book for the Diaper set!

We love all of the David books by David Shannon. We started reading them when my 9 year old was about 4 or 5. Funny enough, or sadly enough, what we loved most about them was the fact that my son had done just about everything in the books that David did. In fact, when reading them, I often changed the name David to my son's name which he found extemely amusing.
I was delighted to see that they now have board books out for the Diaper set! My youngest is 21 months and while I don't see any tendencies of him getting into quite the mischief that his older brother (and David) did, he loves to sit on my lap for his bedtime stories and look at the pictures just the same. The art work is bright, colorful and eye catching...just the sort of thing that catches a baby's attention.
I noticed in some reviews there were complaints about the lack of words in these books. That is part of the charisma of them! My son and I sit together and we point out and talk about the things that David is doing in them.
We love, love, love these books!
Funny my tod loves it

My 2.5 yr old loves David Shannon's books and this one is great. It has vivid pictures and very few words so you can keep it as simple or make it as elaborate as you like, and have fun with it!
