Nancy Drew and her friends are involved in a line of odd events when they visit Misty Lake.the very same day they arrive, they meet a beautiful, red-haired Cecily Curtis. Who asks Nancy's help in solving two mysteries:one that deals with Cecily's fiance, Niko Van Dyke, a popular singer who belives that his record company is cheating him out of royalty payments;the other, involving a family treasure hiddenbefore the start of the Civil war-Cecily's only clue to being half of a gold locket. Nancy's investigation lead her to Pudding stone lodge where ,the Driscoll family lives.Elusive humming noises,a flashing light in the attic of the lodge, the periodic apparition of an excrsion launch which had sunk in Misty lake years ago ,and the fleeting appeances of a scared girl who looks a lot like Cecily gave Nancy plenty of chances to test her sleuthing skills.

I would highly recommend this book for any Nancy Drew book collection.
It all starts when Nancy sees a key near her place at breakfast. Mystery & Suspense build as she investigates the double of Cecily Curtis, a phantom launch that was drowned years ago, & the mysterious noise coming from the location of Pudding Stone Lodge. How Nancy Drew solves a family mystery involving a Iron Bird & kills a counterfeit operation will keep the reader in suspense from beginning to end!

I am doing my book report on the book The Clue of the Broken Locket. This book is written by Carolyn Keene. This book is a fiction book which means it is not real.
In this book the main character is Nancy Drew, a young detective who has solved many mysteries, and now is going a long way from home. She and her two best friends, Bess and George, are heading down to a lake house the mystery of why a man who has been taking care of a lake house has suddenly gone away and claims to have seen a ghost ship on the lake. In this book they overcome multiple dangers and each one takes them either closer or farther away from solving the mystery.
I really enjoyed this book because it keeps you in suspense and makes you want to read on to the next chapter! I would recommend this book to pretty much anyone who loves a great mystery and especially people who love Nancy Drew books.

this is an exiting nancy drew mystery!it starts off by nancy getting a key to a house on misty lake and the exitment starts there.in this mystery nancy tries to help cecily curtis find her family tresure wich she thinks is hidden near a place called pudding stone lodge near where the girls are staying.nancy also helps cecily by helping her to find out if cecily boy friend niko van dyke is being cheated out of his record company. dangerous and perplexing events occur when nancy see's a red headed girl that resembles cecily always running away from them when nancy and her friends see them.when nancy finds a half locket in an old row boat that leads nancy to many suggestions.is the red headed girl being held prisinor with the dishonest driscolls who live is pudding stone national lodge?or is she partners with the driscolls?the way nancy finds the answers and the way she solves the mystery is very exiting!
Nancy Drew Book Review 2006-03-02
This book features Nancy Drew and another one of her mysteries. She tries to help someone unlock a cabin they have to rent named Cecily. But what is the ghost-like boat that creeps along the banks of the misty river each night? Later she finds out that Cecily came to the misty river to find a long lost fortune she had been looking for. Her half locket, which her brother gave her, says the fortune is found in an iron bird. Their neighbors on the lake, the Driscolls, try to think of as many ways as possible to keep them away from the Inn where the iron bird is said to be hidden by keeping captives, building traps, snooping into Cecily's cottage, and pirating records. Overall, I thought this book was awesome. It also includes a love story and lots of other wonderful adventures. You will get sucked into this exciting mystery.

Great Book 2005-10-24
This is the second Nancy DErew book that I read. I loved it. It made me want to read all of her books in one night. The mystery was fun and there were lots of twists and turns. A must read for any Nancy Drew fan.
The Most Exciting Nancy Drew Book Ever! 2005-04-19
The Clue of Broken Locket is a excellent book! Nancy Drew's investigations lead her to Pudding Stone Lodge, where the Driscall family lives. While Nancy is there she hears strange humming noises and a scratching noise in the attic. When Nancy investigated, she saw a frightening girl who had fled the lodge many years ago. That leads Nancy to another one of her mysteries!
I recommend this book to kids who like mysteries, adventure, ghosts and nice long chapter books. I like this book because it keeps you in suspense.
A very good story, with lots of supence and adventure 2005-01-02
I liked this story very much, especially when they (Nancy, Bess and George)go to stay at a cotage on Misty Lake, Maryland. They meet Cecily Curtis at a retaurant in River Heights, and overhear Cecily talking with a young man, who turns out to be her fiancee. Later, Nancy is asked to go open the cottage for this young woman. But since it seems to be an odd time to be vacationing, Nancy feels that Cecily is trying to locate someone or something. Near by the cottage is a large stone house, where later on in the story, Nancy finds Cecily's long-lost cousin, Susan, who had been kid-napped by the Driscolls', the crooked family who was presently occuppying the lodge. Nancy and her friends found Susan's half of her grandmother's locket, while Cecily had the other half. The reason that Susan is kid-napped by the Driscolls' is that they thought that se had over-heard them talking about what to rob next. Susan's side of the story was rhat she had been married to a young man, and a year later had given birth to two adorable twins, Kathy and Kevin.She and her husband had tacken thaem camping when they were two, and when Susan and her husbad had been sitting a little ways down the road, they had been hit by a hit-and-run driver. Someone picked them up and brought them to a hospital, where her husband died, and she was not well for over a year. Then she had set out, determend to find Kathy and Kevin, and had traced them to Pudding Stone Lodge, the big stone house. There she had eagerly rung the doorbell, but had not been answered. The door was open, and she marched right in, because she had just seen Kathy and Kevin at the top of the stairs. But before she had reached them, one of the Driscolls had run out of the room to find Susan close to the room where hey had been discussing their crooked affairs. Fearfull that she had heard them, they held her captive. Twice she had managed to attract Nancy's attention by screaming and flashing her mirror towards the sun. The racket that the Driscolls were involved in involved coping the records of youg, popular pop singer, Niko Van Dike, who was also Cecily's fiance. I won't spoil the end for you, but I will just say that the mystery is solved thanks to Nancy's courage and conciencouness, and that the end is good, because she is there, not relaxing or resting while she waits for the police to capture the theives. An excellent story!
