Editorial Review
Perspective is easy; yet, surprisingly few artists know the simple rules that make it so. Now they can remedy that situation with this step-by-step book, the first devoted entirely to clarifying the laws of perspective. Using over 250 simple line drawings, the author leads the reader through every important concept. 256 illustrations.

perspective drawing 2008-04-05
there are some books that get very wordy with perspective terms and lines and maps of how to use the vantage points, this one is as good as the perspective books that say they are simple techniques

Perspective made Easy is true 2008-02-08
This book has broken perspective and realistic shadows into some simple steps that build upon the previous steps. There are mathematical formulas that govern perspective drawing, but this book doesn't bog you down into that, and simply shows you the easy way to draw what you see, and not what you think is there.

AMAZING BOOK!! 2008-02-08
This is a GREAT book on perspective. Its shows you the wrong way to draw something, then it shows how to correct it and WHY the first image is wrong. It goes into detail about everything and is the ultimate book on perspective.I highly recommend it!!

one handy reference 2008-01-28
What a bargain this book is! I'm teaching myself to draw and this book explained to me in the simplest language possible (and with plenty of helpful illustrations) how to tackle the challenges of drawing in perspective. I really like how the author explains how to draw circles in perspective, how to place people into a two-point perspective scene, and how to evenly divide circles and rectangles so that you can draw in things like the spokes of an umbrella or evenly-spaced windows. There's even a section on reflections that's worth reading. You don't really need to know much about geometry nor do you need fancy tools to try out the exercises in this book either.

Overall this is a great beginner's book and one handy reference to have nearby when you're working on your illustrations.

A Drawing Must Have 2007-12-07

I'm an avid collector of art books and I've found this particular book one of my greatest acquisitions on the subject of perspective. The lessons are clearly presented giving a newbie a solid foundation for drawing.I bought this book because a previous Amazon reviewer stated that this book was recommended by Andrew Loomis. I was not mislead!!!

My review 2008-06-19
Even though it does not appeat to the eye at first, the content is very, very good and teaches a lot.
I keep it close and refer to it every time I have some difficulty while drawing in perspective.

Not for Interior Design 2008-06-17
This book just wasn't for me. Maybe I expected too much after reading all the praise for this book. But I found the explanations insufficient, most of the time I had to look at the little drawings and try to figure it out myself.

There's not much in terms of interior design, which is what I would like to sharpen my drawing skills for. At one point, Norling gives a drawing of a box, and then he tells you to turn it, so it becomes a room and you can place furniture in it. But how??

In my opinion, the book lacks clear instructions and step-by-step drawings.

I expected more, maybe I'll find it in Pile's book.

Elementary 2008-05-28
This book is extremely elementary; it's truly for somebody who has no art experience at all. If you are an Interior Designer looking for a book on perspective drawings chances are you already know way more than this book has to offer. I would recommend Perspective for Interior Designers by John Pile, it's extensive yet very clear and concise.

No more pain 2008-05-09
Wonderfull and easy book to understand the principles of Perspective.
Easy explained and NO MORE PAIN ABOUT PERSPECTIVE

Good for a quick reference 2008-04-05
This book would be a good reference to have around if you've managed to paint yourself into a corner where your perspective doesn't work. Flipping through the pages, you'll probably discover why. The author gives simple exercises for those trying to figure out the principles of perspective in a very easy to understand manner. He covers things you might not think of such as where to space vanishing points, perspective up and down hill, false eye levels, reflections, shades, and shadows. There are many examples, all drawn, in each chapter.
