Very satisfied...

This is a 'solid' book...the design are not big and not sofisticated...so I could pretty much build the entire design coloring pattern in my mind and applied it accordingly...this book was a good training for my inner visual expression...
Great book

I bought this as part of my new hobby of coloring with markers. Mandalas truly help me to relaxe and I enjoy coloring them very much. I use makers so I had my book photocopied so I would not have to worry about bleed over. I am glad that this is allowed via the copyright. The paper quality is great and for the money you get a LOT of patterns.
Wonderful!

"Mandala Designs" by Martha Bartfeld is a lovely book for those just beginning to color mandalas. Included is a (very) brief introduction describing the mandala's function in religion throughout history and around the world. The mandalas included are designed by the author, with spaces that are quite big, not intricate, and are simple enough for children to color. If using crayons or colored pencils, make sure you have a sharpener handy!
I work in a mental health setting with children, and they are always asking to color mandalas, as it offers them (and me!) an easy and fun way to forget the things going on in their lives, if only for 15 minutes.
The only drawback to this book is that the designs are printed on both sides of the paper, making them unfit for hanging in windows as "stained glass," or for using markers that bleed. A simple solution: photocopy the designs! This is allowed by the copyright (I checked!) as long as you use them for "graphics and craft application . . . provided you include no more than four in the same publication or project. . . reproduction of any illustration by any other graphic service, whether it be in a book or in any other design resourse, is strictly prohibited." By photocopying the designs, you may experiment with different color combinations, and use the designs over and over again.
A wonderful book filled with simple mandalas perfect for kids and adults alike!
Great book for the price

I mainly bought this book to get a variety of Mandala designs without spending a lot of money. The designs are printed on every page, so if you color one page the page behind that one is also printed on.
Dover books are always well done and the price is right too.
good coloring book

Forty-four ready-to-color original designs, based on an ancient motif symbolizing "universe" or "wholeness," will challenge and excite colorists of all ages. Typically containing circles, squares, triangles, and other geometrical figures rotating around a common center, these intriguing patterns will provide a wealth of inspiration, as well, for artists, designers and craftspeople.
Martha Bartfeld's Mandala Designs

Martha Bartfeld's mandalas are always fun to color, and one derives a significant spiritual benefit from them, as well. I also have her spiral-bound Magic Mandalas Coloring Book and have immensely enjoyed it. Her mandalas are easy to color and challenge you to seek their deeper meaning, which is different for each person.
Beautiful mandalas

This is a book of mandalas that can be enjoyed either as they are, as a beautiful symbol/ image, or used as a coloring guide. The mandalas inspire one to awaken the higher mind through the use of them as symbols of higher consciousness. They are very beautiful and inspiring.
