Very cute and for a good cause. More information on magical creatures found in the books. Worth the short read.

For Harry Potter fans like me, this book is a great vook to get because it gives you a ton of background info and helps you figure out the mysteries of Harry Potter.
A little short of stuff but it will do

I really expected more graffiti and more fabulous creatures. And alot of the creature descriptions were similar and confusing. But it was a good reference for the Harry Potter series. It helped me understand alot more about the creatures that made it more vivid in my mind.
Fun but short

This was a charming book, but I wish there had been more to it. Given the lenths of the Harry Potter books themselves, I would have thought this would be more in depth!
Great cause, silly creature reference

By "Newt Samander" (aka J.K. Rowling), it is otensibly, Harry Potter's textbook, a compendium of the non- human or -wizard species one might run across. For Harry's fans in need of a between-edition fix, this is a work for the charity Comic Relief. The entries vary from the familiar fairies and ghouls and unicorns to creatures I can't help wondering if Rowling's fertile imagination contrived: froopers and lobalugs and mackled malaclaws. Fortunately, the text notes each critter's Ministy of Magic Classification from one X (boring) to five X (known wizard killer) so studious types will know whether to worry about a Chizpurfle (XX) more or a Quintaped (XXXXX) more, should one encounter such. Included are sophomoric doodles by both Harry and Ron Weasley. Silly fun. Great characters, no plot!
These are real little books

I thought these were fake books, but nope, they got information
on fantastic beasts which is a lot of fun to read. Any Harry
Potter fan would love these.
Don't Do It!

This has to be one of the most overpriced and under-satisfactory books ever. Nearly $20 for an ultra thin book the size of a Dr. Seuss story, completely devoid of pictures, but because it has Rowling's name on it, they feel compelled to overcharge the unknowing public. DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK, and if you do, don't pay full price. Absolutely and completely NOT worth it.
Every Hogwarts student should own a copy

Ever wanted to learn more about FANTASTIC BEASTS but were afraid to open your "Monster Book of Monsters?" This handy little reference book will help you pass your Care of Magical Creatures class without the bites and scratches associated with the alternative.
Easy to use A-Z reference, with Misistry of Magic classification codes, and a special forward by Albus Dumbledore.
Please note that this copy once belonged to a previous 3rd year student, Harry Potter. Any information provided in the margins by Mr. Potter has not been authorized by Newt Scamander or by the Ministry of Magic.
Great book, but...

The one problem with this fabulous little book is that many of the creatures are difficult to envision without an illustration, of which there are very few (and when there are, they are merely black and white sketches.) It can be quite hard to tell if you're picturing the animal correctly. Fortunately for me, my favorite of the beasts is illustrated. This book definitely convinced me to get myself some Fwoopers--birds of African origin with vivid orange, yellow, green or pink plumage.

A quick, fun read filled with humor, wit and perhaps even some insights.
