this too, was not the full story

This is the most disappointing for me...there's no bofa on the sofa! It was supposed to be hardcover, but it wasn't...it was a board book, too.
Entertaining Book!

My son loved this book and I enjoyed reading it to him over and over again!
Short Book and Fun Read

I bought this book for my 2 year old son and he liked it a lot, but my 4 1/2 year daughter absolutely loves it. The rhyming of the words are classic, it is an easy read, flows nicely, and quick too. With phrases like, "a geiling on the ceiling, or a zower in the shower, or a nink in the sink". My daughter even made a game out of it with her dad. She will ask him have you ever seen a nink in a sink or a pink snake and a rake, etc., she is a pro at rhyming now, and this is by far her book of choice for silly rhyming spells with her dad afterward.
Great book for kids learning about rhyming words.

I am a first grade teacher in Chicago. My students came to me, most of them not understanding rhyming words. Although we did many rhyming word activities I still had students who struggled to understand and make the connection. It wasn't until I read this book to them that those last few struggling students were able to understand! I was just as excited and had just as much fun reading this book to them as they did listening and telling me the rhyming words! They even got up to dance as I read the last page really fast!
Seuss w/o the Seuss

We have both the real versions of these Seuss classics and a few of these "bored" book versions... they have most of the original drawings, but not all. The text is quite different, especially in Wocket. The fun, clever rhymes that have charmed generations of kids are missing here -- the versions in the board book are quite different, and not as charming. Get the real thing, your kids deserve it.
It helped with those scary house noises

that seem so loud in the dark. Now we just try to decide which one of his characters is making the noise. My little one thinks the artwork is really neat.
Became a favorite (and easy to memorize)

We received this as a gift for our first daughter, now 5, when she was a baby. It became her favorite at the time. Now she still loves it, because she can read it to her little sister, who's 2. They both get the greatest kick out of the silly rhymes. Plus, after all of the times I was asked to read it, I memorized the book (it's not that long), and could "read" it while cooking, etc., and my daughter flipping the pages. Plus, since it's a small board book, it's durable and portable, making it a must-have on any trips, long or short. We also have The Foot Book, ABCs, The Tooth Book, and Mr. Brown Can Moo (another favorite). All are worth the purchase.
Great board book

My son loves this book. We actually keep it in our diaper bag and pull it out whenever we are waiting somewhere.
Not as good as his others

I purchased this book because I own several other Dr. Suess board books, including Mr. Brown can Moo, Hop on Pop, the Foot Book and The Shape of Me. I like all of these books, because they contain simple rhymes, colorful pictures and are great for helping a baby learn language.
I was a bit disappointed with There's a Wocket, because most of the words are made up. I don't mind a few made up words, but all the characters in this book are made up (there's a nooth grush on my toothbrush?)
I would recommend waiting until your child is old enough to no longer need board books, and purchase the full version. I'm sure older children who are already talking would love the silly made up creatures & rhymes.
It's such a cute book!
