Editorial Review
The classic fantasy trilogy of Elmer Elevator and the flying baby dragon has delighted children and their parents for generations. Now, on the occasion of their fiftieth anniversary, Random House is proud to bring the three timeless tales together in one beautiful commemorative edition, complete with the original delightful illustrations.  A Newbery Honor Book and an ALA Notable Book, My Father's Dragon is followed by Elmer and the Dragon ("rich, humorous, and thoroughly satisfying"*) and The Dragons of Blueland ("ingenious and plausible, the fantasy well-sustained"*).  Each story stands alone, but read in succession, they are an unforgettable experience.*Library Journal, starred review

WARNING! Black & White Illustrations 2008-09-04
This edition does not have color illustrations. When I purchased it, I was under the impression that it did. They are printed in black and white. The paper in this edition is the sort of paper used in a low quality trade paperback: this isn't really a nice edition. I'm not very pleased.

But the story itself is worth reading in any edition! Wonderful book!

Fantastic Three Tales 2008-04-26
This is a wonderful three-in-one storybook. We are reading it as a family and it is so clever and beautifully written. I would highly recommend; you will not be disappointed.

Three Tales of my Fathers Dragon 2008-04-05
Excellent children's book! I highly recommend it to all
people young and old. Great illustrations and wonderful
imagination!!! A classic!

Fabulous for reading together! 2008-04-02
My wife bought this on recommendation from another Amazon parent and we have enjoyed it very much! We curl up in bed together with our 4.5 yo son and 7+ yo daughter and read a couple of chapters each night. The children adore the story line, Elmer's cleverness and everything about this charming, delightful, classic series. Absolutely get this trilogy to share with your children and your grandchildren; it's wonderful!

Kindergarten read-aloud 2008-03-28
I could have purchased each book individually, but bought the three in one version. I read the book in record time to my class in daily read-aloud sessions because every day they would BEG me to read just one more chapter in the story! They were engaged each day. It is an amazing read-aloud with excitement, adventure and thrilling parts that kept imaginations running and waiting for the next chapter then book~! I know these books will become a part of my read-aloud for years to come.

My 3 year old's favorite! 2008-02-26

Lovely, funny book. 2008-02-22
My four year old daughter and I really enjoyed this book.
Especially the mixed up mouse.

FANTASTIC!!! 2008-02-12
My 2 1/2 year old son received this book for Christmas. I was amazed how captivated he was when we read it before bed. My 11 year old daughter even joined in on the fun. Now we are all reading it again and enjoying every minute. It is definately a book I will purchase as a gift for others who enjoy something a bit different from the mainstream books. It is a timeless treaure!

7 year old reluctant reader LOVES this book! 2008-01-13
My 7 year old (2nd grader) does not like to read. After reading rave reviews on this series, I bought him the trilogy for Christmas. The fact that it was about a dragon immediately interested him. The inside cover has a map of Tangerina and Wild Island along with notations (the back cover has Popsicornia and Blueland). When he saw this, he became even more engaged - wondering what it was all about. We started reading it together (he would read it aloud, I would read a paragraph here and there to give him a break). The chapters are very short and there are pictures smattered throughout. We would read a chapter or two a night, sometimes three. Not once did he ask me "how many more pages are left in this chapter?" or "When can we be done?" Nor did he complain when I told him it was reading time. At the end of each chapter, my son would go back to the inside cover with the map and point out the places where the action in the previous chapter occurred, telling me in detail what had happened. Not only was he reading it with interest - he was remembering it well enough to tell me about it in detail! I just hope I can find a book as good as this one to keep him going!

all three in one 2007-12-26
I read these stories to my class every year, and my old paperbacks were getting very worn. It was great to find this series in one book, and a hardback at that! These are great stories that have been enjoyed for years and perfect for reading aloud or alone.
