Love this book! 2008-05-03
My son loved this book and it definitely encouraged him with potty training. After the first read he would make comments about being 'like Michael in the book'. We used this book in conjunction with sticker reward chart and he potty trained in a very short amount of time!

Great Potty Training Book for Boys 2008-04-21
My son relates to this book. It "asks" questions like "This is Micheal. He wears diapers. Do you wear diapers?" and my son gets really interested because he thinks the book is talking to him. Very good.

Finally! 2008-04-19
Finally, a book that got my toddler interested in using the potty! I'm not sure what it was about this book, but he read it only once or twice before he wanted me to read it to him while he sat on the potty. It has worked great in peaking his interest to potty and be like the character in the book.
Also, we tried using M&Ms as a reward every time he pottied, but then started a sticker chart (found in another book) and that has worked even better!

My son ignored at 2, loved at 2 1/2 2008-03-07
I got this book because I liked the story and it didn't show bathroom misbehavior - why tell kids about pulling all the toilet paper off the roll? He didn't like it at first, but right around 2 1/2, when he really seemed ready to start training, he really started to like it.

Son loves this book! 2008-02-26
My 22 month old son hadn't shown much interest in potty training until we got him this book. Now, he likes to read it every day and sit on the potty, just like Michael. He's nowhere close to being potty trained, but this book has helped to start the process!

My stubborn boy loves it! 2008-07-17
My stubborn 3 year old loves this book and is really understanding the message. We read it every time we have "potty time".

Great for my 2 year old 2008-07-15
We read this book at night and now he loves to sit on the potty.

Great book for toilet training little boys 2008-07-13
I bought three potty training books for my son and this is one I like the most. It has a nice specific story which doesn't dodge the fact that poo and wee are what actually go into a potty (as some of the others do), and the story outlines the training process neatly. The parents' reaction to accidents is good and can be used as an example when my own child has an accident ("Don't worry, all children have accidents sometimes. Next time you'll remember"). The illustrations are very good, and my son clearly relates to them (he's fascinated by Michael's car at the beginning of the book). Highly recommended.

One of the best books ever for potty time (and for today's politics) 2008-07-12
Although ostensibly written to teach small children a basic lifeskill, this is also a fine book to teach Republicans some basic conservative principles.

It begins by explaining how, when Michael's diaper is wet or dirty, "he tells mommy or daddy. Then they put a new diaper on, and Michael is clean and dry again." Now, think Presidential and how voters will replace "Diaper George" with either Barack or John.

After Michael's parents bring home a potty, George (I mean Michael) does the obvious; he sits on it, fully clothed. Then he sits his Teddy Bear on it, 'cause he likes Teddy (Roosevelt). Sounds like Michael (I mean George) needs some on-the-potty (I mean on-the-job) training ... or at least to listen to his Daddy.

The book is a beautiful, sensitive and helpful guide to training a young child in one of the basics of life. It's written in language simple and clear enough for any Republican (I mean parent) to understand in teaching the basics of what's important.

It took Michael (George) some time. "Michael sat and sat. This time something happened. Mommy and Daddy and Michael looked in the potty. They saw pee and poop." Sounds like what prosecutors saw in the Abramoff lobbying scandal, doesn't it? Of course, cleaning up pee and poop is a lot easier than cleaning up Washington.

Consider the following sequence: "One day Michael forgot to use his potty. His pants got wet. The floor got wet, too." During Hurricane Katrina a lot of pants and floors got wet. Remember, "Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job"?

Please, don't let the political similarities deter you from buying this book. It deserves the high ratings others give it. What's more, when your child is properly potty trained, pass it along to some Republican to help them start over again from the basics.

They may need it more than your child. Just look at the mess they've made. Don't you wish someone had read it to George when it was published in 2000?

An Awesome Potty Book 2008-06-25
My son absolutely adores this book. This is one of the best potty books out there for boys. My son is 24 months and listens to the entire story. He looks forward to hearing this story while he sits on his potty. He can even recite some of the story back to me. This book is a big winner in my household. The story is very encouraging and it helps to motivate children to use the potty. Unlike other potty books which focus so much on play and not using the potty. This book serves its purpose to teach children how to use the potty using a positive approach. It is the most realistic book out there because it relates to normal bodily functions of all humans while promoting the proper use of a potty.
