Sweet Book

My girls love this book. The 5-year old has it almost memorized. We love Tasha Tudor.

perfect gift for a little girl (or not so little girl). A very elegant book that harkens back to another age. Will bring a little refinement to any library and I can't think of anyone who wouldn't find it charming!

What a lovely and sweetly-worded book with charming illustrations! This is high on my list as a beautiful book for granddaughters and daughters to be cherished for decades to come. Nothing surpasses this book's illustrations.
for my Annabelle!

Ever since she was born, I couldn't wait to buy this for my niece, Annabelle! We gave it to her for her first birthday. It is just exactly the way that I remember! The adorable alphabet introduced me to the necessities of this Victorian doll. Now I will share it with her.
An Excellent Book

I picked up a very tired copy of this book at a thrift store and fell in love with it - so did my sister! The illustrations are exquisite and the book is easy to read. Some words are not unfamiliar to children, and their parents should explain them. I would recommend this more for a female. My 8-year old son liked the pictures, but not as well as my 10-year old daughter
Simply LOVELY

Learn the alphabet from A to Z with the help of Annabelle the doll. Each gorgeously illustrated spread features one of her favorite things. With antique boxes, parasols, and yarn for knitting, children can learn the alphabet in grand style.
A Treasure

Who can resist Tasha Tudor's lovely illustrations? This ABC book starts with Annabelle, the antique doll, and goes on to show her bonnet, cape, and wonderful clothes and accessories.
I loved this book when I was little. The idea of a doll having her own trunk really intrigued me in the late 1950s. Everyone was getting those ballerina dolls, but I wanted an old-fashioned doll like Annabelle. My mother must have liked it too, as she sewed up a wardrobe from scraps to transform my doll into one like Annabelle.
Treat your little one to this book and start them on the path to enjoying and treasuring things from the past.
Enchanting

I loved this book when I was a child and continued to treasure it for the exquisite drawings as I got older. Annabelle and her fabulous wardrobe fascinated me and I'm happy to say that my ragged old copy is now giving my niece the same kind of joy it once gave me.
A book for little (and big) princesses

I was born in the year this book was first published and received it as a child. I spent many hours imagining I had a doll as wonderful as Annabelle with all of Annabelle's clothing and accessories. I absolutely loved this book as a child.
When I had my own little girls over 20 years ago, I bought them this book. While I don't think they were as entranced as I had been, they definitely enjoyed it. When my now-grown children were in their teens, my husband and I added a caboose to our family--a little princess who is now 11 years old who loves the book even though she is well past the ABC stage.
This book went out of print for some years and was nearly impossible to find. When it came back into print recently, I bought six copies so that I would have one on hand every time a friend had a little baby girl.
This would also be a good gift for girl's who enjoy collecting American Girls paraphernalia.

WOW! I am so glad to see this book back in print. My sister and I grew up pouring over our mother's copy and now that we both have daughters of our own we haven't known who gets to have A is for Annabelle. Now we can both have our own! This book is so delightful for little girls just starting out with their letters and learning to read. And the pictures are to die for. If there is a little girl in your life, do yourself and them a favor and BUY THIS BOOK!!!!
