Silly Songs 2006-11-10
My kids like the silly rhymes set to familiar tunes, especially the title song. Only complaint is that some of the melodies aren't all that familiar and we're going to have to find the music to be able to sing them.

I am giving this book only three stars because it's low on my daughter's list of books she goes to on regular basis. I think firstly, the images are a bit on the gross side (and I have an art degree & can appreciate the style). Some are just not pleasant to look at even though they probably describe the poem well (poems about a stinky diaper; having a food fight; cleaning your room; falling on your untied shoelaces). And secondly, the only poem that's fun to read is the first one about being in the tub too long. That one is fun to read, but the rest are a B-. Some may really enjoy these poems, but I was disapointed with the purchase of this one.

Nice illustrations, but that's where it stops 2006-02-09
The illustration were very good in this book, but the 'silly dilly songs' were a big dissapointment. Some lines were just taken out of thin air with very little thought behind them - I know it's supposed to be silly, but these weren't. My 7 year old did not find them amusing,, but perhaps a 4 year old might.

Buying another, because my copy is worn from use! 2005-12-08
I am an elementary music teacher and absolutely LOVE this book and it's sequel. We pull it out on those days right before a break or a holiday when the kids can't focus and just want to have fun. We sing the real song, such as "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and then sing the twisted version: "Stinky, Stinky, Diaper Change." The kids laugh at the more slapstick humor, but I grin at the more subtle wit. Forget the age 4-8 listing. I have 6th grade boys that love these songs, and the classes can't wait to see the outlandish pictures after we've sung the song. They gasp and squeal even when they already know what's coming. I'm buying a second copy, because after 3 years of dragging the first one along during fire drills, loaning it out over weekends, and having eager kids flipping through to find their favorite song, mine is worn out. The kids are writing their own "silly dilly" song-lyrics to get their name put into a drawing to win the old copy. :-)

A great book 2005-05-26
This book has a bunch of silly songs like they made "take me out to the ball game" into "take me out of the bathtub." The art is super silly and cool. They have 2 or 3 songs that I don't know the tune or the words but it's still fun and great.

Love the silly songs! 2007-12-31
We got this book when it first came out in 2001. My kids who were 6 and 4 then, Loved it. We sang it most everyday, and they still love it at 10 and 12 years old. We have the next book,I'm still here in the bathtub and also the christmas one. If you like to have fun with your kids I highly reccomend it!!!!

Very unoriginal and not funny 2007-11-06
This whole series is very unoriginal and not clever or cute. I think children already get enough exposure to stupid bathroom humor without contributing to it at home. Thankfully, even children see through this junk - quickly became the least favorite book in the toy box.

Take the kids to poetry 2007-09-15
I'm a teacher, and this book was a huge hit with my students during a reading clinic I helped teach. One boy declared that he didn't like rhyme before I introduced the book and really got into it after I had him read it anyway...he even performed one of the poems for the class!!!

poetry 2007-07-12
This is great book to introduce poetry. If your students are reluctant poetry readers, this is the book for you! There is also a sequel!

Book - Take Me Out of the Bathtub 2007-01-16
This is a book of silly song lyrics that sung to old well-known tunes. The title song is sung to the tune of Take Me Out to the Ball Game. I have purchased 3 copies of it so far: for my 2 year-old stepgrandaughter, my 4 month-old great nephew and my daughter and son-in-law and their little 15-month old niece.

It's such a fun thing - getting reacquainted with the old tunes and singing such silly lyrics. The illustrations are wonderful too.
