You'd be better off having your kid watch the TV show 2008-09-01
I'm not a Dora fan. Nor am I fan of branded merchandise in general - why should I pay good money to cultivate brand loyalty in my kid?

With that said, I'm even less a fan of this book than I would be, because it's not even as well-written as the episode it's based off of.

Cute story 2006-02-25
It was exactly what I was looking for. My grandson loved it. Thanks.

Little Star Book 2006-02-01
Only thing noticed is that the book lacks some of the parts
that are shown in the TV version movie. My Granddaughter (age 5) noticed it right away.
My personal opinion is that it probably can't be helped
in producing a movie out of a book.

The rest is very good and we've read it a few times already.

A Great Bedtime Story 2005-05-10
Little Star an adaptation of the Wish Upon a Star teleplay, which tells the story of Dora and Boots witnessing Little Star getting knocked out of the night sky by a comet.

Like many Dora stories, they must cross 3 obstacles to reach their goal. In Little Star, Dora and Boots must venture past Troll Bridge and solve the Grumpy Troll's number riddle (counting how many stars in the sky), go past Tico's Tree and then make their way to Tall Mountain.

When they arrive at Tall Mountain, they must figure out a way to reunite Little Star with his friend, the Moon. Of course, along the journey, Swiper needs to be reminded "no swiping!"

Little Star is a great bedtime story for young readers. If you're looking for a Dora book that teaches your child several Spanish words, however, you'll be disappointed. (In that case, you'd be much better off with Good Night, Dora! which teaches children the Spanish terms for 8 different animals.)

A cute and fun read before bedtime! 2002-06-03
This was the very first Dora book I bought for my three year old. The story itself is about a little star that falls down onto the ground and dora and boots have to figure out how to put the star back.
Each page has something on it that is easy to talk about or have kids point out. One page asks you to count the stars on it, and another asks what ideas your child may have to put the star back.
I have to say that this book is not very long and very easy to read. There are four or five spanish words in it too but it is not a big deal if you skip them. My daughter and I really enjoyed this book. The last page ends in good night so it is really nice bedtime book. I have to buy all the books in the series now!
