Not bad for a textbook!

I like how the author has broken down the different chapters. As with most textbooks there are a few areas that sort of drag on, especially the intro chapters, but mostly due to them giving you a background and history of Child Development. As you start breaking into the other chapters the information gets much more interested and it starts to read faster. I had to get this book for a class I was taking, but I found the information also useful in my personal life. All in all, not bad for a textbook!

This does not reflect poorly on Amazon as it was cheaper to get a new book here than a used one at the bookstore but... What a Rip Off. The cost of college is already high enough and the books required for one course shouldn't be so expensive. Do professors get kickbacks for making their students purchase these "onetimeuseneverlookatitagain" books? Sure glad I didn't have to get the hard cover copy. What a waste of 83 bucks.

Very Upset and Angry

I ordered this book and payed for the express shipment which cost me an extra $12. I have been waiting well over a week for this book that I needed for my class. Now I am behind in my class because I have not received my book in the time that was promised. It hasn't even been shipped yet! I am unsatisfied and this will be the last time I order a book from amazon.

Not much difference than newer editions

I still earned an A in a development psychology course with this edition. Also, it's an easy read. :)
