This book claims to be the best...ha! The essay on page 220, practice test 2, does not reflect the standards the actual test is measuring. In the book, on page IV, as well as on the NYSTCE, website, it clearly states that the constructed response essay is about reading (objectives 001 and 002)their example essay however, is all about math. I called Amazon as well as REA and told them of the error. They apologized and said they would correct the error. I told Amazon to remove the book immediately as anyone who is looking for test preparation will not find it in this poorly edited book. If this isn't irony...what is?

The REA study guide for the NY Multi-Subject CST is a waste of money. It is not the best preparation guide. What I found the most useful was the writing sample part. It was close to the writing sample that was on the actual test that I took on 6.9.07 in that the information that was asked of the test taker was almost identical to the sample in the book with the exception of the (given)passage. Overall, I would not recommend this book.

I think that this is a good book, but it should focus more on test taking skills and how to answer questions. The only part where this occurs is in the sample test, but some of the answers are still confusing. The book talks a lot about what type of questions are on there, but does not go into detail about how to answer questions.
