Editorial Review
Complete with weird baby names, tips on how to avoid a sympathetic pregnancy, and a discourse on the evolution of ESPN and the role it plays postdelivery, Hill's tome has been thoroughly revised to account for not only the usual father-to-be questions but also the often baffling and amusing technological and medical advances awaiting today's four million expectant dads.
This hilarious month-by-month guide offers new and veteran dads solace, laughter, and a bit of useful information, including a question-and-answer chapter covering basics like "How much does having a baby cost?"; visual charts assessing such things as the breakdown behind the mom-to-be's weight gain; sidebars covering common wife complaints and anticipated purchases; and much more.

Not what a serious father-to-be is looking for
2008-01-20
I bought this book to better prepare myself for fatherhood. Basically, it is a joke book that tells you to drink beer and ignore your wife. It doesn't educate you on any of the issues, medical or otherwise, that you and your wife will be going through. So, save yourself the money and go with some other book.
Great book for first-time fathers!

I ordered this book for my husband when we found out we were having our first. He had already read through What to Expect When You're Expecting, The Girlfriend's Guide, and a couple others geared towards the expectant mom. If you are looking for a serious parenting book, keep looking. If you want something that your husband can enjoy reading and also gives some pretty good advice to men about how to keep from upsetting their pregnant wives during a high-stress, high-hormone 9 months, this is a good investment.
Also good as a gag gift for a new father!
I enjoyed it

My husband never cracked it open. It says it is a parody... so it is hard to take seriously. I thought it was funny though.
A definite MUST for the new reluctant father

Purely for comic relief during those painful months leading up to the big day, I occasionally use this as a reference book too. See honey, according to your book I SHOULD be complaining about you this month (and every other month!)
Husband thinks it's funny, but uneducational

Ditto previous reviewers....This book tried too hard to be funny & wasn't very informative.
My Husband Loved it

My Husband loved this book, I would recommend it for any husband of an expacantent wife!!
Okay

My mate enjoyed it, but when you want your man to be compassionate about your every ache and pain, don't let him read this, as he will say. "Oh, they said you would complain about that!" Get your mate to sign up for babycenter emails instead, they will keep him well informed of your baby's development and what you are going through. Then he will lend a knowledgable and loving ear to your aches and pains.
The item was shipped promptly from the vendor.

Sorry their was a computer glich...... This is wonderful guide thru the ups and downs of first pregancy. It has helped my son go thru this exciting time with humor. It has helped him to understand and be involved in all the changes going on during this happy time. I highly recomend this book for all first expectant fathers.
A Great Humor Book

As a feminist I tend to disapprove of these books, but I have to say I laughed despite myself. I wouldnt recommend raising a child on this advice but it isnt meant as a serious guide. Very funny!
Amusing for the dad to be

I thought this was a funny well thought out book for the expectant father. I have a hard time thinking of gifts for the expectant father's in my life...and this fits the bill perfectly.
