Editorial Review
Bobby Pendragon is a seemingly normal fourteen-year-old boy. He has a family, a home, and even Marley, his beloved dog. But there is something very special about Bobby.
He is going to save the world.
And not just Earth as we know it. Bobby is slowly starting to realize that life in the cosmos isn't quite what he thought it was. And before he can object, he is swept off to an alternate dimension known as Denduron, a territory inhabited by strange beings, ruled by a magical tyrant, and plagued by dangerous revolution.
If Bobby wants to see his family again, he's going to have to accept his role as savior, and accept it wholeheartedly. Because, as he is about to discover, Denduron is only the beginning....

My 11 year old son really enjoyed this book. He read it constantly over about 3 days. He said there are some "sketchy parts" which (evidently) means that there are a few parts that are a little hard to follow or understand. But overall, he recommends it.
Bobby Pendragon, a Traveler

This is most definitely one of my favorite series. The story is about a 14 year old boy who lives a normal life. That is, until his Uncle Press comes and tells him he must save Halla(which consists of our universe and 9 other universes including other times.)
This book is a scifi, adventure/fantasy book were Bobby is the narrator.
I love this book so much.

The start of the Pendragon books

The ninth book came out in May, and I decided to give the stories a try. Naturally, I started with The Merchant of Death, the first book in the series. I was surprised at the storyline and wasn't expecting it to be a futuristing, timetravel story. Still, a good start and I look forward to reading the rest so I can pass them along.
This Book Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an awesome book! It is fast-paced and is a page turner. You never know what's around the corner for Bobby Pendragon...
Bobby Pendragon is a 14 year old jock and basketball star. Everybody loves him. Then one night his Uncle Press comes to take him away to start his life as a Traveler. Travelers are people who travel around the universe, in different times and spaces, to help out territories in need. Travelers help save Halla - every little thing in the universe. Saint Dane is the person who wants to rule it all. The selfish dog... Anyway, that's how it starts, with Bobby going off to a territory called Denduron. Happy Reading!
If you like fantasy, TOTALLY read the Pendragon series!

This book is definitely a 5 star! It is fast paced, full of action and is altogether a great book. Bobby Pendragon, a 14 year old basketball star and jock, is rushed off and out of his home by his Uncle Press who needs help. His uncle is actually a Traveler, a person who travels around the territories to stop evil that wants to crush Halla, and so is Bobby! So with a bit of help from Loor, Osa, Mark and Courtney Chetwynde, he goes on his mission to help out the Milago in a territory called Denduron.
Altogether, D.J. MacHale is an AWESOME writer and has wonderful imagination! This is a pretty hard book for 3rd or 4th graders to understand, though. (I'm in 6th grade and some of the words even stumped me!) So the range of grades would probably be from 5th - 9th grade.
Happy Reading! :)
The Start Of A Legend
2008-06-16
Bobby has a normal life. In Fact he has a great life, he leads the basketball team, he's popular and he recently kissed the girl of his dreams. So the last thing Bobby wanted was change, but that's what happenend. He's about to leave for the semi-final b-ball game when his Uncle Press Comes by and says Bobby needs to come with him. Bobby thinks its going to be some group of people who need food or shelter, but It's not. Instead after a thrilling subway scene Bobby Gets flumed off out into some place he had no Idea existed.
The Land is called Dunderon and after a wild ride down a hill Bobby ends up in the hands of the Milago, a good and friendly people, But Bobby soon finds out its not all good. The Milago are being ruled by an oppresive people headed by an evil tyrant, and they tell Bobby its his job to save them.
Filled with a smart story, plot twists, and action scenes that blew my socks off, The Merchent Of Death is a must read for anyone.
Not Bad

I was hoping for that pure reading enjoyment that I got from reading Harry Potter, so my disappointment is my own fault.
It was good; it was also a strange writing style. I enjoyed it, I read it fast, and still not sure if I will read book 2.
Not sure what else to say......it was "Not Bad"
