My 2 1/2 year can't get enough of this book!

The book is awesome!! My 2 1/2 year old son loves it! I have to read it over and over to him about 10 times...I have it practically memorized.

This book is fabulous! It's colorful, succinct, and as a parent, amusing to read. My baby doesn't understand the words that I'm saying, but someday, she'll see the humor in the book, as well. The parents that are offended by the book need to chill out. If you can't enjoy yourself and find humor in the gross things that kids will do (and they WILL do them), then I think you take yourself too seriously! Lighten up and enjoy the ride...

My 1 1/2 year old and I love this book! We have all of Leslie Patricelli's books and read them over and over again! How often do you find a kids book that keeps your child interested and doesn't bore you? I have found that with this series! Highly recommended!
Fantastic! 2008-01-08
My son, 20 months, adores this book. The illustrations are so expressive. In particular, he is enamored with a certain page where the baby eats hot sauce ("Hot sauce is yucky!") He will bring us this book a hundred times a day and squeal with delight when we get to his favorite page. My older son has memorized it and will "read" it to him, which is really wonderful.
This book is a winner. I've read it a hundred times already and I'm still not tired of it!

The illustrations in this book are incredible, bright, rich and so beautiful to look at. There are only a few words on each page which is really great for the littlest of kids. It is really silly and sweet. They'll sit through this one, for sure! This is a must own book!!!
My 22 month old loves this book 2008-05-24
This book is LOVED by my 22 month old daughter. We read it several times a day. This is the 2nd Patricelli book I've purchased (We own Big Little...another favorite of hers) and the illustrations are precious and the content very relatable for a toddler.

Leslie Patricelli really knows how to read little kids' reactions to words and concepts. Her illustrations are simple but hilarious.
Everything about this book makes it a winner, and adults or older kids will LOVE sharing it with tots.
Definitely buy this one if there's a new baby in your circle!
Should have veggies as a YUMMY

I really like the idea of this book, but with all the obesity in kids and in America today, ice cream and cupcakes should not be on the 'yummy' pages of this book. Not that they aren't yummy, but peas, spinach or fresh fruit should be listed as yummy. I was just disappointed that with so many weight issues, and I'm trying to raise my baby to love his veggies (which he does), it's a bummer books like this don't exemplify healthy nutritious eating.
Fun for the whole family 2008-04-07
I bought my 2yo daughter Yummy Yucky as well as Binky, and Blankie. This is our favorite. My 7yo son, my husband, and I all enjoy applying our yummy and yucky detection to other aspects of life. Although the part about Mommy's coffee being yucky is difficult for my daughter because she has acquired a taste for the "yucky" stuff. The others...sand, worms, smelly socks...we all seem to agree on. You will enjoy this book. It would make a great shower gift for new parents.
Hilarious for parents & big sis 2008-02-18
My younger child received Yummy/Yucky, Quiet/Loud and Big/Little as baby gifts. At 9 months, he is still more interested in eating books (yucky!) than reading them. His big sister, 3-1/2 yrs, is too old for them...EXCEPT when she is "reading" (i.e., "reciting") them to her baby bro. All three books are PERFECT for trying to pique his interest in books (reading them, that is) and making reading a family activity. They are very, very funny. Big sis and I both enjoy reading the contrasts dramatically, which actually holds little bro's attention for more than the usual 10 seconds before he launches himself at a book, mouth open and two teeth bared. Patricelli's books are a load of fun, with adorable illustrations. I'm pre-ordering the two new ones, Yes/No and, um, I forget what the other one is but who cares, I want it.
