Delightful book and perfect for the shorter concentration span of the younger child. Check out the Stanley: Hop To It DVD- my son started making his own breakfast and tidying his room after seeing it!!!Stanley - Hop to It
A Great Big Winner

Our 3-year-old is a big fan of the TV series and had always pretended that he also had a copy of the Great Big Book of Everything. Now he's thrilled to have his very own REAL one. He even keeps it under his bed just like Stnaley does. The book is beautifully set out and interesting to read for all ages. A great book for any child who enjoys Stanley or is into wildlife.
Great toilet training aid!

We used this book successfully to encourage our daughter to do number two's in the big loo. The book stayed in there, and every time she got that glassy look in her eyes we'd say with great enthusiasm "let's go read the big book!" and off she'd go.
The animals aren't ordered alphabetically in the book, but are still grouped in a very kid-friendly way. The hard cover also protects it from the ravages of kidzilla. Full marks!
Great Big Book of Fun

Perfect pint size reading with interesting facts most adults won't know. You have to be okay with the animals not being in any real order, but it does make it more fun that way. I would highly recommend for 3-5 year olds.
Fun and Fabulous Resource

This book has interesting facts and pictures on every page. It was a hit with my Grade 3 class! It is exciting and fun to read especially for those who do not like reading. I simply would ask a child their favorite animal and we would turn to that page. Then I would have them read a fact about their chosen animal. This book supports several Alberta, Canada curriculum objectives and is an excellent resource. It is a wonderful way to get any child excited about science!
I also recommend Andrew Griffin's Stanley books as resources. They are fun and engaging.
GREAT BOOK!!!

It's Stanley's Great Big Book of Everything-the handy-dandy reference book that Stanley uses to explore the animal world on his hit Disney Channel show. With 96 pages of fun and fascinating animal facts, colorful photos, and brilliant artwork, this book is both comprehensive and refreshingly entertaining. Kids will have fun discovering the captivating world of animals for themselves-just like their animal-mad friend Stanley!
learning about animals

Learning about animals is very interesting for most children. Whether children are finding out about them through reading or watching special animal shows on television, children simply love learning about wild animals that live faraway on other continents. You can't go wrong with this book.
The best book everr!!

My husband and I purchased this book for our 2 year old son and it was a big hit. He is now 3 and he gets it off of his book shelf everytime the show comes on and finds the animals for each episode!! My husband and I really like this book and it doesn't bother any of us that it is not in alphabetical order.
great fun with an alphabetical index
2006-05-17
My almost-4-year-old son loves this book. I was originally disappointed with the non-alphabetical organization, but it doesn't bother him, and the index appeases me. My son can now name all the endangered animals in the book, knows which animals eat plants, can spell hippopotamus, and has even started eating a wider variety of foods at dinner (by helping me name the dishes after various animals). He takes the book outside and opens it so the animals "come out" like they do on TV, and he calls his baby brother Dennis (after Stanley's goldfish). I may have to report back in a few more weeks about the durability of the binding, but it's holding up so far...
My 4 year old loves it!

We purchased this book for our son on his 4th birhtday. He loves it and insists on taking it everywhere. The only draw back to the book is that it isn't organized alphabetically like the one on the show. It's really not that big of a deal, just different from the "real" great big book of everything.
