Editorial Review
Why are boys so different? Why would a trip to the garbage dump be such a highlight in a boy's life? What do boys need to learn in order to become good men? A mother's influence on her sons is unique and valuable, but still sometimes moms don't understand what makes their boys tick. They want to help their sons grow up to become men of honor and integrity, but that's a tremendous challenge. With refreshing honesty and a man's insight, author Rick Johnson offers the advice, understanding, and support every mom is looking for when it comes to raising godly sons. Using extensive research and humorous personal experiences, he addresses tough issues, such as communication, discipline, sexuality, and respect. Mothers, including single moms as well as grandmothers and teachers, will find wise counsel and reassurance in this practical and helpful book.

At last a book for moms of boys. 2008-08-18
I have read a lot of books about raising boys, most of them written especially for fathers. This is the first book I have come across especially for moms. As a single mother with a son to raise I have been looking for a book like this.

Great read 2008-08-13
I really enjoyed this book. Although it is written to speak to mothers who raise their children by them selves, as a stay at home mom of a 2yo, I found the information in the book helpful. My biggest take away is to have a conversation with boys while you are moving, it registers in their brains better if you are active with them. What a great tip to help me be a better mom.

Easy Read, Great Information 2008-08-01
I was having a lot of trouble with my relationship with my 9 yr. old son, so I bought this book (as well as The Mommy Manual by Barbara Curtis), and although I've only just read the first chapter, I've already learned a few things about boys (and men) that I didn't understand before, and I can look at my son with a little more understanding now. I recommend this book to all moms who have sons (or a husband for that matter!) :)

Awesome for a single mom 2008-05-26
This book was exactly what I was looking for. The author provides a Christian view into how moms can help instill desirable traits in her son. It was full of great tips for single moms. It was realistic, honest, and encouraging. A must-read for moms of boys!

Excellent! 2008-04-21
As a mom of two boys, I have found this book to be an eye opener. It is written in a simple yet delightful way. I recommend it for anyone who has boys or who work with boys.

Terrific for all moms of boys 2008-04-21

That's My Son ... a winner for all parents 2008-02-25
Rick Johnson has gotten to the heart and soul of what makes a boy a boy and a man a man, physiologically and emotionally.
He gets back to the basics and common sense of parenting and his advice and tips can relate to parents of all backgrounds.
As a parent of two older daughters, my 13 year old son is posing quite a few issues I have never before faced. Mr Johnson's book addresses all of them and answers questions I have found myself up against in the past few years.
Straightforward and informative, Mr. Johnson's That's My Son is a wonderful confirmation of what you're doing as a "repeat parent" and helps guide you along if you struggle with your first experience having a son.

Loved it! 2007-05-27
Read it in a couple of days. Great book for Moms and/or single moms. I have renewed faith that I can raise my boy to be a good man even if I'm the closest thing to it in his life!

Must Read 2007-03-21
This is a must read for moms who have boys. It was very eye opening! I grew up in a home with only girls and had no idea on some of the ways boys think. It is hard raising boys in today's society. We need to be raising our boys to be men, something that is very lacking today. The book does seem geared towards single moms, but don't let that discourage you from reading. It applies to ALL mothers, single or not.

This has been an amazing read! 2006-04-22
This is simply the best. As it is combined with the seminar you give, "Courageous Moms Raising Boys to Become Good Men", this will be a world changer! I am so glad to have heard about you and your work. Thank you for the easy to read, deeply insightful book. You have given many woman hope whither they are single, married, grandma's or teachers, the insight and wisdom is refreshing! I'll be looking forward to reading your next book.
