Editorial Review
Do you know the difference between burning one and Burning Man? Does using the name Marley as an adjective make total sense to you? Do you chuckle to yourself when the clock strikes 4:20? Are you convinced that the movie Dazed and Confused deserved an Oscar? If you answered "Dude!" to any of these questions, then Pot Culture is the book you've been waiting for.

For those in the know, it's the stoner bible. For novices, it's Pot 101. Either way, Pot Culture encapsulates the history, lifestyle, and language of a subculture that, with every generation, is constantly redefining itself. From exhaustive lists of stoner-friendly movies, music, and television shows to detailed explanations of various stoner tools to celebrity-authored how-tos and an A-Z compendium of slang words and terms, it's the ultimate encyclopedia of pot.

Written by former High Times editors Shirley Halperin (now a senior writer at Entertainment Weekly and a TV talking head) and Steve Bloom (publisher of CelebStoner.com), and featuring contributions by a host of celebrity stoners, including Melissa Etheridge, Maroon 5's Adam Levine, Redman, Steve-O, and America's Next Top Model's Adrianne Curry, Pot Culture provides the answers the everything you ever wanted to know about pot but were too stoned to ask.

"Pass the Dutchie! Marijuana and rock 'n' roll have been joined at the hip, since, well, ever and that link will be explored in the book Pot Culture by journalist Shirley Halperin and longtime High Times editor Steve Bloom. . . . Essentially an encyclopedia of pot, filled with such top 10 lists as "best stoner movies" and "stoner capitals of the world," plus a "pot-parazzi" section with celebrities sneaking a toke . . ."--Billboard

Great conversation starter, that's not all 2008-08-12
This book is great as a read on it's own or a conversation starter with friends. Want to know how to make a carrot pipe? What about making cannabutter? Not sure what kush is? This book will get you started on the never ending cannabis culture.

The one downside to a book like this is it's lifespan. While i'm sure a lot of the information will be relevant for a long time to come some of it wont. With the development of new strains, smoking techniques, and slang the only way to be up on the jargon is to be a stoner yourself.

Honestly $14 for this book is a steal. So if you want to be educated on the stoner species or you just want something to stare at while your high this book should be in your collection.

I'm the pot genius now 2008-08-02
I bought this book once I heard it being advertised on 107.7 The End as one of the best marijuana books around. Each page has new, interesting information and a lot of it is related to celebrity stoners. Each day you can find something new in the book, and all my friends are in awe of the book and love to sit and read it. GREAT BOOK

Don't Smoke This Book 2008-05-19
This is the definitive guide to what Pot brought to Pop Culture and it is really amazing how ingrained it is in our society. We all know Pot won't kill you, but leave it to Halperin and Bloom to show us how pot has enhanced our lives. Like it or not, we would be lost without weed and this entertaining, enlightening and thorough look at how Pot has ingrained our society is a great read. I wish I had this when I was 15, but I had to learn all the tricks on my own. Now I just have to hide my copy from my kids....I want them to figure it out the hard way.

well worth the price of admission 2008-05-19
well written, funny, and in-depth, this book covers it all from stoner slang, to films, to recipes etc... really nice packaging is a bonus and this would look fantastic on any coffee table.

Great Read! 2008-05-18
I picked up this book as a gift for a friend. Now I'm not what one would call a "stoner". In fact, I can't remember the last time I smoked pot. I thumbed through it and got caught up in a really great read. I can only imagine how much better it would have been if I was a smoker, but it is a great fascinating and fun read for just about anyone. Loved it!

So much of a variety! 2008-04-27
This book covers so much about pot culture. It is great to have around and just look through and read about anything you need to know about the culture. I love this book. I bought two copies when it first came out...one for me and one for my best friend. I've just ordered two more copies for two of my other friends. I consider it a must-have coffee table book for people into this type of stuff. There is such a great variety of information, from definitions to pages dedicated to great musicians, artists, and entertainers, to how-to guides.

Great Book for Pro to Amatuer !! 2008-04-23
I love books about Cannabis, Cultivation, Hash, basically anything drug related catches my interest, So this book was a must have for me. After seeing this book featured in one of my favorite shows "Weeds"(When Silas Starts working with his mom he is seen reading "pot Culture") I had to do some reasearch. When the book arrived at my door, For once I was hoping it wasn't "Playboy". "Pot Culture: The A - Z Guide to stoner language and life" the title meant to me that it was going to read like a dictionary of everything Ganja related. Well...After, consuming 2 space cakes, 6 Glass Bong hits, 2 shots of tanqueray and 10 chocolate chip cookies (no THC included) I started reading. To make a long story short this book missed out on a few terms that are very important but, wont interfere with the quality of this read. I loved the celebrity How-To-Do's with Redman, Rob Thomas, Jonah Hill, Steve-O and more. I really recommend purchasing this book for the Stoned and Un-stoned Reader.

Great Book, Beautiful Package 2008-04-19
It was appropriate that my copy of "Pot Culture: The A-Z Guide to Stoner Language and Life" showed up on the very day that Representative Barney Frank filed a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives to decriminalize the possession of small amounts of pot. Steve Bloom's book lavishly and lovingly demonstrates that pot culture is completely interwoven into American culture and that stoners, far from being at society's fringes, have made important contributions to our music, literature, arts, and even science. (One of the book's rare omissions, however, is Carl Sagan and his PBS series, Cosmos.)

For many readers (especially children of the sixties), "Pot Culture" will be a trip down memory lane. For others, it will illustrate the impact that stoner culture is having on today's headlines and cultural trends. In either case, it's a thoroughly entertaining look at an the significant and enduring influence that pot and its legions of aficionados have been exerting on our larger cultural environment for decades.
