I purchased this book for my Daughter and son in law who lost their infant child. It was a great comfort for them
Tear Soup

My family received this book as a gift when my mother passed away. We identified with it so well that when some friends lost a child, I decided to order a copy for them. I ended up ordering two copies and I had only had them a week when another friend lost her mother so I passed on the second copy as well. I imagine I'll be buying more copies before too long. My favorite part is when it talks about the world going on as if nothing happened. I highly recommend this book for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one.
Very helpful

This book has a very gentle way of describing ways that people experience grief. I bought it for my nine year old son but I got even more out of it than he did. I heard myself and other adults referring to the book when they would recognize a grieving behavior in themselves or others.
It Tells It All!

After the death of my beloved husband, I read a number of books on the topic of grief. This book was the best. It tells the reader in a succinct manner the healthy way to go through the grieving process. The book is good for all ages (including children). I have bought a number of copies and now give it to any close family member of friend who goes through a major loss in his/her life.
Tear Soup is beautiful

This is a wonderful light-hearted book for anyone going through or one who knows someone going through the grieving process and doesn't quite know what to say to others who try to help. Utilizes a clever metaphor of soup preparation. Makes a great gift.
Touches your heart

I first found out about this book at a SIDS Parents support group I attend. I fell in love with it. No matter how old you are, or what your loss is, this book clarifies that ALL people grieve differently. Even if you haven't experienced a loss but know someone who has and you don't know what to do to help them... this book is the answer. I buy this book for all new SIDS Parents that I meet. It's great for the parent(s), the sibling(s) and any other family member of friend that is hurting.
Tear Soup a great read for all ages!

Tear Soup is a well written book on the issue of grief and loss. Whether a child or an adult, a recent loss or from long ago, the book speaks to and validates those painful experiences.
The author shares a variety of ways that individuals respond to grief both personally and when others have experienced loss. It offers readers the freedom to experience and express grief in the many ways one might on any given day or moment.
I keep an inventory of this book and share in place of a sympathy card.

This book was recommended to me after my father died. It's an easy read, but shares some important thoughts and feelings about grief.
Comforting book

A lovely, comforting book. It is a book that is just as meaningful for adults as for children. I like how the story, basic and simple, shares all kinds of truths about the grief journey. The illustrations are wonderful.
