Water for health

Fereydoon Batmanghelidj was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1931. He graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School of London University, where he studied under Sir Alexander Fleming. In 1979, he was sent to the Evin Prison when the Iranian Revolution broke out. Charges were leveled against him and he was scheduled to be executed, however, it was realized that he was useful as a resident doctor among the prisoners, so his execution was delayed. According to numerous writings by Dr. Batmanghelidj, he discovered the medicinal value of water during his prison stay by treating inmates with water because medication was not available. It was from these experiences that he gained an understanding of water. His methods have been deemed controversial by some, but others have claimed to benefit from his treatment methods.
The main idea of Dr. Batmanghelidj's way of healthy life is to upkeep the desired amount of water in the organism. He gives the overview of substances that decrease and increase the quantity of water in the body. The substances covered are alcohol, tea, coffee, salt, sweeteners and so on. He gives examples of how the lack of water harms various organs and various deceases, including AIDS. Some examples are doubtful, but traditional health care practitioners approve some of Dr. Batmanghelidj's assertions about water.
I personally do not agree with all of the Dr. Batmanghelidj's statements that water can heal every decease. I did drink a lot of pure water before reading Dr. Batmanghelidj's books, and I also follow his advices about water (I did even heal some of my deceases with water), but I'm sure that in many cases you should not refrain from applying to professional medical care just because you drink enough water. You should not try to heal every disease with just water.
Common sense information for over medicated population

I've been an advocate of this book for many years now. I am a massage therapist working with my Chiropractor husband. We DO NOT preach against medicine, pharmacuticals, surgery, etc.. when NECESSARY, however we do push for preventitive measures first. Proper hydration being one of the first measures. I can't even begin to tell you how many people come to see me for therapeutic massage that tell me they are properly hydrated with SODA, JUICE, COFFEE to name just a few. How many people say to me "I just don't like the taste of water."? Too many. I can feel when muscles are dehydrated. My husband can tell when the discs are dehydrated. Drinking water is really the most important nutrient your body can get. Without water, oxygen can't flow properly through your body and without oxygen cells die. I recommend this book to all of my clients. Most of them have found tremendous relief from just drinking more water. (Massage of course helps!!) Please, don't hesitate to buy this book and/or recommend it to all of your friends, family and colleagues.
living water

Thank God for this information....I was swimming around in the scientific medical community all my life. No real solutions, just drugs and hopelessness. Now there are some sensible explanations to what has ailed me all these long years. Allergic to the drugs and just writing checks for all those fruitless doctor visits , I felt like the woman with the issue of blood in the bible. Spent all her money and still bleeding. I lost my hope in doctors helping me a L-O-N-G time ago. Good thing I didn't eat all those antacids or stay on those antidepressants and antihistamines.No more rectal checks for this girl. My all time favorite response from every doctor. "You should see a Psychiatrist !" I finally did, and LOST MY MEMORY for a year on lithium and prozak and my skin paid a huge price in wrinkling that never went away, while having to drink 8 glasses of water a day or feel like throwing up. You have to be careful about the naturepathic doctors also. They say eat a low salt diet, very dangerous ! Buy the book , bend page corners , get a highlighter , take some notes and write on every page as you read and learn . Enjoy being healthy for a change and rejoice in the freedom of not having to wonder what is WRONG . Love , kay

This book touches on so many aspects of the importance of sufficient water intake to sustain our bodies in good health. I only regret that I didn't have this information years ago. This is critical information for us all, and especially helpful to parents raising children so that they can incorporate a healthy water intake regime in teaching their children about how to care for their bodies. I began to drink much more water every day, as the book suggests a minimum of 2 1/2 liters for a person my size, and I can't believe how much better I feel after just a few months. So many of the physical "ailments" I was experiencing are simply gone. This is information every person and every family should have and enjoy the benefits of incorporating into their lives. I plan to read more books on this subject as I am finding it so helpful to my wellbeing.
Another piece of the puzzle

If you have taken the time to read the many reviews on this book, you'll have seen some pans, a couple of crazedly fervent raves by devotees, and a good number of people whose eyes have been opened. This book is wonderful for those of us who approach medicine and healing of our bodies with open minds and with the knowledge that Western medicine is not the end all be all of health.
Dr. B does not do himself any favors by mentioning things such as "AIDS is not caused by a virus" or asserting that he can cure multiple sclerosis simply by administering water. This is unfortunate as it provides easy targets for mockery for those who cannot imagine following any path not born out by 'clinical studies,' preferably accompanied by an 'FDA approved' pharmaceutical cocktail. But for those who have seen firsthand several diet-precipitated ailments be completely misunderstood, misdiagnosed or just plain missed by GPs across this country (who truly get minimal nutrition education in med school,) it is very valuable knowledge.
Sift through the bitterness and borderline ravings of a man who is attempting to heal people with the simplest, most effective cure possible and is being laughed at by the medical establishment. You'll be able to add some new understanding on why full hydration is absolutely vital to your health concept, and likely avoid the modern, Western-made pathologies that may require moder, Western-made medicine to fix.
Common Sense Prevails at Last

I have always been interested in ways to imptove my health and because of this I have remained very active. I am 69 years of age and joined a fitness club 18 Months ago which has kept me very active. However, I had minor complaints. for example , my breathing was not what it should be despite doing quite a bit of running. Also I developed a slight problem with my left hip. I put this down to inflamation but niggling at the back of my mind was that the hip joint had gone. I came across an article about water. Like most people I assumed that I hdrank enough water. My eyes were soon opened after I read this book. I started putting into practtice what I read and the results have been amazing. Not only has my breathing improved but the pain in my hip has very much decreased. Moreover, my blood pressure dropped and I am now free of medication. I am also more alert and have a lot more energy. I would ask anyone who purchases this book, easily read and understood, to keep and open mind and give the princples dicussed a chance. They will be delighted with the results. I have recommended this book to a number of the younger generation at my club and also to close friends. Certainly a very worthwhile buy.
