Editorial Review
In her new book, No More ADHD, 10 Steps To Help Improve Your Child`s Attention and Behavior WITHOUT Drugs, Dr. Mary Ann Block, top-selling author of the groundbreaking book, No More Ritalin, reveals the truth about the ADHD diagnosis and helps parents, step by step identify and improve their child`s true health and learning problems. Dr. Block takes the reader on a shocking journey behind the scenes of the medical profession to expose the origin of the ADHD label and explains how children’s attention and behavior symptoms can be the result of real and explainable health and learning problems.

While others are debating the pros and cons of the psychiatric drugging of children, Dr. Block has spent her medical career working in the trenches, helping to get children off these drugs and to keep them off. A mother who knows all too well how the medical system can fail a child, Dr. Block was compelled to go to medical school at the age of 39 to save her daughter after doctors made her child seriously ill with a wrong diagnosis and inappropriate use of drugs. Today she brings to her patients the understanding and knowledge of a physician and the sensitivity and respect of a parent. What Dr. Block learned as a mother and a physician is in this book and may help bring hope and comfort to other parents.

With the facts in hand and an understanding of the issues, this book may help to guide parents, step by step, to identify and improve their child’s health and learning problems and to a future with No More ADHD.

Seeking the truth about so called ADHD 2008-07-26
It is so helpful to the world at large that the author of this book, Dr. Mary Ann Block, had the determination and strength of character to study and train as a Dr. of Osteopathy (which at 39 years of age is a feat in itself) to assist her ailing daughter, who had a continuing history of long duration of adverse deteriorating body conditions, with little or no constructive help from most of the medical practitioners from whom she sought advice and assistance; furthermore, at times receiving incorrect diagnosis/prognosis re her child's condition.

During the process of training as a Dr., Mary Ann Block looked into the use and effects of psychiatric drugs like Ritalin, Prozac and similar, concluding many revealing and disturbing facts; such as how it is these drugs came into existence; the drug company's influence upon medical education and doctors; drug studies and fraud; how these drugs cover up the actual symptoms of the problem; school personnel and other "authorities" exerting pressure on parents and children to take these type of drugs; the horrendous risks and side effects from taking these types of drugs; this type of drug related deaths; and so on.

Dr. Block also reveals startling information about mislabelling (mainly children) with the so-called ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) a psychiatric behavioural disorder term, as classified and voted into existence in 1987 by the American Psychiatric Association (APA). Dr. Block gives insight into the "reasoning" behind the "diagnosis" and rampant distribution of Ritalin, Prozac and similar types of psychiatric drugs issued to children. Due to the APA's so-called "help" (no comment) millions of children are now taking drugs like Ritalin, Prozac or similar.

You will find many noted sources of reference in the book, one of which is Bruce Wiseman, National President of Citizen's Commission on Human Rights (a psychiatric watchdog organization which has been investigating and exposing psychiatric violations of human rights for 30 years) who reveals many examples of the connection between psychiatric drugs (mainly Ritalin and Prozac or similar) and violence over a two year period.

There is a very appropriate introduction in Dr. Block's 'No More ADHD' book by Dr. Julian Whitaker, where he states, and I quote...

"If Mozart or Beethoven had lived today they would have been drugged for ADHD. This would have destroyed their souls and immeasurably diminished human culture. In my opinion, the current indiscriminate drugging of children is satanic. It destroys character development and fosters a valueless culture. "When a problem arises take a drug."

"In No More ADHD, Dr. Mary Ann Block clearly outlines reasonable solutions to the "problems" of childhood. This is a must-read for parents who are concerned about their children. Do not, and I scream do not, trust psychologists, psychiatrists and the current drug-pushing culture of modern education. There are superior alternatives and Dr. Mary Ann Block has a book full of them."

"Julian Whitaker, M.D." ...end of quote.

Basically this book "No More ADHD - 10 steps to help improve your child's attention and behaviour without drugs!" exposes alarming truths re psychiatric drugs, that most parents are not aware of, and in the main offers (proven) solutions to help our children with attention and behaviour problems.

After reading this review I earnestly request that if you have a child or know of a parent with a child that has been labelled with ADHD and is either already taking or has the potential of being drugged with Ritalin, Prozac or similar for this "disorder"; buy and read this book ASAP.

No More ADHD 2008-02-09
One of the best books on ADHD. I think everyone with children or loved ones with children, Teachers and Doctors should read this.

Yet another set of observations looking in from the outside.... 2007-05-13
As with the Author, I notice most of the positive reviews were NOT from people who say they have personally had to struggle with ADD/ADHD. I do not doubt that the "label" is overused, especially with children, and I know from experience that some of the ideas suggested in the book do improve this and many other conditions. However, to claim that ADHD is a made-up diagnosis just adds to the stigma suffered by those of us who know firsthand how debilitating this "disability" can become. Based on the author's approach to this subject, I think her next book should be entitled "No More Depression."

Buyer Beware 2006-01-27
I am 37 years old and trying to determine if I (and possibly one of my children) have ADD through both my own research and thorough medical and psychiatric investigation. This was the fifth book I read on the subject, primarily to gauge the 'flip side' of the arguments in this area. All authors are entitled to write their own opinion, it is their book, however I encourage potential buyers to do some research about this author and her biases and to formulate their own opinions to determine how much weight to attach to this information as it is presented. I struggled to agree with much of the content as it does (as advertised) run contrary to most everything else I've read and most everything I've experienced personally. I further don't believe there was any earth-shattering revelations nor reasoned counter-arguments to the mainstream ADD body of knowledge.

Both kids came off the Ritalin, this works 2005-07-21
I have two children that were diagnosed ADD and ADHD in 3rd grade. I went along with the program of Ritalin and then Adderal (until I learned what it can do to their livers over time and how taking these drugs can lead to depression and the need for anti-depressents which can then really lead to more problems)and then I pulled the kids off the medications. I didn't tell the teachers, lol, until a year and a half later. But by then I had read the book and was going through the process of elimination to discover what was creating the problems with my kids.

It takes some time and going to her website is a big help: [...]but this book was a life saver. I was so helped by it that I bought copies and made teachers and counselors, even my kids principal read the book. Not only did it educate them but it empowered them to work with me on things to be done at school to find the source for my children's lack of attention in class. Between removing the processed foods, sugars and doing the other things suggested in the book, we were able to overcome what looked like ADHD and ADD symptoms.

So does this book educate? Most definitely. Is there help out here that doesn't require one to poison our children with chemicals? Absolutely! My kids are 16 and 14 today and doing great.

Solid overview of the ADHD label & practical holistic help 2003-04-19
Dr. Block has put together an insightful analysis of the roots of the epidemic of ADD/ADHD labeling, while offering proven effective interventions for people seeking to address the causes that produce the symptoms associated with those labels. There are many physical, emotional, and environmental factors that contribute to inattentiveness and hyperactivity. Common discipline methods and drug treatments often aggravate these underlying imbalances and stressors, even if they temporarily create conforming/compliant behavior. While this book has improved on the scope of the author's previous book "No More Ritalin," I'd like to see a further expansion toward examining emotional and subtle energy factors that relate to ADD/ADHD symptoms, as these interact with biochemical/environmental factors addressed in the present book. Unfortunately, there are many parents and caretakers who are unwilling to make changes in their current habits of feeding, nurturing, and disciplining children. The more healthy options that can be presented, the better, since this increases the chances that parents and educators will try some beneficial approach. Dr. Block has done a solid job of exposing the fallacies and negligence of the established medical paradigm surrounding the ADD/ADHD issue.

Controveral Subject 2003-01-22
This subject is very controveral and Dr. Block offers an excellent argument AGAINST ADHD's existence. I found it difficult to maintain interest in the book, to realistically adopt her recomendations and have not completed it.

Lacking in substance 2002-11-20
There is nothing new in this book that other books have. I need strategies to help my child be a productive citizen, not feel guilty that he has a disability.
