Editorial Review
Books on repairing manufactured homes are nearly impossible to find. If one is found, it's either outdated or lacking real information. This manual has changed all that.
Designed for homeowners as well as contractors, "The manual for manufactured/mobile home repair and upgrade" is packed full of useful repair techniques. But it's more than just doing repairs, it's also about upgrading and improving a manufactured home. For instance, not only will you learn how to stop a metal roof from leaking, you'll also discover an inexpensive way to replace it. Want to relevel your own home? This manual gives you step by step instructions. Need to replace your waterlines? Then you can't miss the information found here.
Even if you don't do your own repairs, this manual will give you invaluable knowledge of how a repair should be performed so when you do seek a contractor, you know the right questions to ask. Written by a contractor, this manual should be required reading for every owner of a manufactured home.

Best - much better than Foremost's book
2005-07-05
I ordered the Foremost book first because of the reviews. It is simplistic & disapointing. Then I ordered this book, I'm very impressed. I wish I had bought this book first. If you need to replace an underbelly this is the book for you. Lots of other wonderful information too. Thanks, Mark Bower!
Mobile Home repair

This book was very general and lacked diagrams and specific instructions. I would recommend another book called Foremost Mobile Home Fix It Guide: Your Manufactured Home Repair Book. Amazon offers a deal on both books, but if you get the foremost book you really don't need the other.
Where else are you going to find all this information?
2003-12-28
Definitely a lot of information for one book. Some chapters could be expanded a bit further, but where else are you going to find these kind of ideas! Mark has ways of fixing things that I've never thought of before, and saved me money!
Overpriced

I'm pretty dissapointed. THis book was quite expensive. The cover of the "book" did not match the cover of the book in the picture above. The book I got is more of a glorified pamphlet. Yes, the information in it is helpful, but $10-$12 is a more reasonable price.
Keep looking......

Too light-weight. I recommend the Foremost book instead. It's more professionally done with comprehensive information.
great book for the do-it-your-self person

This book is easy to understand and lays repair procedures out throughly. It includes major and minor repairs mobile home owners need to know. I highly recommend this book.
Good info but ....

We found the information very useful, however, very disappointed in the "manuscript" construction(I wouldn't call it a book) considering the extremely high price. Don't expect this to hold up for any lenghth of time to use as a reference manual due to poor quality (such good information deserves better). No publisher, no ISBN, pricey
Helpful book.

I am glad I bought this book. I found the information to be accurate and simple to understand. The book could have had more projects and pictures for the money spent. Overall, I would recomend it.
Just What I Was Looking For

I am new to mobile home living since I had to retire early from health problems and did't want to aquire alot of debt at this time in my life. I was an experienced bluilding rehabber and maintenance man. I read the reviews here and saw the Formost guide was higher rated and cheaper... I recieved it in the afternoon and by evening had it listed on ebay and sold it .It was 3/4 full of things I already knew.. I was hoping for a more mobile home specific manuel. I checked back at Amazon and saw Mark's book was offering "seconds" and I snapped one up. Should have got this one first.. It is more mobile home specific. A few of the pictures looked like they came from a home just like mine.. It was written like I would have written it with excellent pictures and illustrations(like correct fastner torquing in the roofing section).Excellent heat tape section.. Anyway I just had to give my two cents.. May God Bless You..Jesus is Coming Soon..Kim
Not worth the price they're selling it for

This book has very good pictures and detailed instructions, but is basically something you could put together at any copy store. It has the plastic ringed connector, and looks like a paperback manual someone copied for me. It definitely isn't worth the new price of $39.95 and still not worth the used price of $20-25. It's more useful for an actual trailer than a manufactured home and leaves out a lot of the more realistic details for upgrade that someone might want to do to make this look less like a trailer inside.
