Goofy, but worthwhile

This book is a great reference and "kickstarter" to get one up and going in the screenprinting biz. It, however, is by no means the "be-all" and "end-all" to learning the trade.

Practice practice practice and talk to those that are doing it, but use this book for orientation.

I Created an Entire Screen Printing Business With This Book!

In the early 1980's I started a screen printing business out of my home. I purchased How to Print T-shirts for Fun and Profit by Scott Fresener and Pat Fresener. This is the bible of screen printing. It is the best "how to" book I have ever purchased. With this book I started a part time screen printing business; and for a while, a full time business. I had the business for over a year.

The book taught me a common sense approach on how to build a screen printing business from the ground up, the equipment to purchase and how to price and market the products. It also showed me where to buy shirts, and caps, inks and other supplies. It was only 175 pages long, but was full of ideas, resources and illustrations. Few words were wasted!

I think this version is probably much more powerful than the one I used!

This book has good information but I would try to find it used as it is a bit pricey. If you really want the information try to go to a local tradeshow. That seemed to help me more than the book.

This is a good book despite Scott Fresner. I suggest that you don't buy anything else from him. He will sell you the moon if you let him.

very thorough. has info on a variety of aspects of the t-shirt business. i am using it in stages as i start my own business. i highly recommend this as a nuts and bolts type book, no fluff.

Really is as good as they say

Between "the 6 week business plan" and this book, a new business owner would have a fairly strong basis on which to start their own graphics printing company. A HUGE amount of info, tons of good illustrations, etc. I was very impressed.

BOOK TO BUY

Every question you can possibly have about screen printing is answered in this book. All though we had ordered this book and through a series of events we got it over a month late.We purchased other screen printing books while we waited. We could not actually start till this one arrived.
It helped tremendously. It is thorough . The other books were nice, pretty pictures, high art books I am sure they will be inspirtational. But if you are begining ,pay the extra to get this book. If you only buy one book , buy this book. Sorry to all the other authors. This book even deals with the actual buisness.
