This is a decent kids (8-12 year old) mechanics book.

Silly me didn't read far enough into the reviews of this book before I bought it. It's for kids. It's simple and when I have kids I'd like to buy it for them.
There is a mistake in one of the pictures, I believe, which is disappointing. It shows a worm gear engaged with a spur gear and I believe the page is saying that you move the spur to spin the worm gear. That's of course nonsense, it's the other way around.
Otherwise it's a simple enough mechanics book that some of the concepts would stick with the attention-deficit kids of today.
