Editorial Review
In the mist-shrouded haze of past, the world of Azeroth teemed with wonders of every kind. Magical races and ancient beasts strode alongside the tribes of man -- until the arrival of the demonic Burning Legion and its baneful lord, Sargeras. Now dragons, elves, orcs, and dwarves all vie for supremacy across their scarred, war-torn kingdoms -- all part of a grand, malevolent scheme to determine the fate of the world of...

WARCRAFT

DAY OF THE DRAGON: A terrifying upheaval among the highest ranks of the world's Wizards sends the maverick Mage, Rhonin, on a perilous journey into the Orc-controlled lands of Khaz Modan. What Rhonin uncovers is a vast, far-reaching conspiracy, darker than anything he ever imagined -- a threat that will force him into a dangerous alliance with ancient creatures of air and fire if the world of Azeroth is to see another dawn.

LORD OF THE CLANS: Slave and Gladiator. Shaman and Warchief. The enigmatic Orc known as Thrall has been all of these. Raised from infancy by cruel human masters who sought to mold him into their perfect pawn, Thrall was driven by both the savagery in his heart and the cunning of his upbringing to pursue a destiny he was only beginning to understand -- to break his bondage and rediscover the ancient traditions of his people. Now the tumultuous tale of his life's journey -- a saga of honor, hatred, and hope -- can at last be told.

THE LAST GUARDIAN: The Guardians of Tirisfal were a line of champions imbued with godlike powers, each one through the ages charged with fighting a lonely secret war against the Burning Legion. Medivh was fated from birth to become the greatest and most powerful of this noble order. But from the beginning a darkness tainted him, corrupting his soul and turning to evil the powers that should have fought for good. Medivh's struggle against the malice within him became one with the fate of Azeroth itself...and changed the world forever.

OF BLOOD AND HONOR: The paladin Tirion Fordring had always believed the Orcs were vile and corrupt, but an unexpected act of honor and compassion sets in motion a chain of events that will challenge his most fundamental beliefs and force him to decide, once and for all, who are the men...and who are the monsters.

Awesome! 2008-04-21
Really enriches my game playing by absorbing me in the history of the places and races in the game!

A Warcraft Smorgabord 2008-04-01
This was the most exciting collection of Warcraft books since the "War of the Ancients" series. All four books within take place within the same time frame. All of the Authors from Richard Knaak to Christie Golden seem to create the images through words and when you read their stories it feels like you are watching them on the big screen. If you are new to Warcraft then this is the book to read.

Want Your WOW Kid to Read? Grab this! 2008-02-20
My son is a WOW-head and plays the game all the time. Being a parent who wishes he spent more time reading, I found these books to be a great way to extend his interest in WOW, and have him read as well. They aren't 'game guides' but actual stories set in the World of Warcraft. This contains four stories and he seems to love them.

just great 2008-02-16
simply: a great background, but does perfectly on its own as well. well-written, fully engaging.

I play WoW so I am bias 2008-02-15
All 10million users of World of Warcraft should read these books! It should be mandatory reading, for the pure simple fact of making the online world we play in richer. Blizzard has created an amazing world with an in-depth history, these books (there are 4 books in the Archive) will provide more in-sight and change the way you look at some of the NPC and locations.

While reading these books you will find yourself thinking about locations you have played in during questing, you will go to the website to look up the world map so you can picture where the characters are at. You will love them, and you will want to buy all the WoW books, I have.

Over all, a good collection for warcraft fans. 2007-12-23

First-time reader of game-based novel 2007-09-16
I only recently started playing WoW at the request of a fellow brother Mason. I previously played Guild Wars for three years. I started reading this book when my character was under level 20. It gave me a lot of background information about the world setting and events that happened outside of those in WC3 and WC3:TFT.

Right from the very first page, I was taken aback at the quality and detail of the writing. The one thing that makes the Warcraft world so enjoyable is the easy to remember names. Add in vivid descriptions of a fantasy world and you have the makings of a great story.

This particular edition contains four seperate stories. The first is pre-Horde and the next three are tales of characters and stories you can interact with in-game.

I highly recommend this to anyone interested in the stories of the Warcraft world.

Nice Anthology 2007-08-09
I actually read the first three books individually before I got this anthology. Nevertheless, it is a fine collection of all four stories. These stories are well written and give a good history of the Warcraft world

Whether you are a WarCraft game fan or not, these books are entertaining... 2007-08-02
WarCraft Archive is a collection of four books published previously... three in book form, and the last as an e-book:

Day of the Dragon: The mage Rhonin finds himself on a mission to release one of the Dragon Aspects, and gets more than he expected...

Lord of the Clans: The orc Thrall finds there is more to life than being a gladiator slave for humans...

The Last Guardian: The last Guardian of Tirisfal, Medivh, discovered his parentage, and is distressed...

Of Blood and Honor: The Paladin Tirion Fordring finds an orc with honor, and is honorable in return, with drastic consequences...

These stories are pretty much stand alone stories. The strongest is the first, and the weakest (and shortest) is the last. Clearly they are related; the spirit of WarCraft flows throughout. I had read books one and three previously, but books two and four were new. This is a more economical way of buying the first three, and the four is only available in this volume (or online).

If you like the fantasy genre, with dragons, mages, orcs, and magic, then you should enjoy WarCraft Archive!

Fantastic, exiting great read. 2007-07-16
Although each bok didnt follow on from the last it was essentially filling out the story of warcraft since the beginning.

The best book in my oppinion was lord of the clans and coming in close second was the day of the dragon. however this compiltio recieves 5 stars due to the enjoyment i have had with all 4 books.

The last gurdian was a thriller more suspense and twists than the other which made it an interesting read.

All in al if you enjoy warcraft novels and the fan fiction this is a must buy. Cheaper than purchasing them all seperate aswell
