Great book! 2008-07-20
I love to read this as much as I think my son likes to hear it (he's only 1 so it's a bit hard to tell). It's got a great rhythm to it and it's a book that I read almost nightly because I like it so much.

Fantastic read-aloud book 2008-07-07
This is a great read-aloud book for kids of all ages. My 3-year-old loves it (though I think I may like it even more than she does!) and we periodically get it from the library to read over and over.

The style of the story is perfect for young listeners - the frog starts by eating one small bug, then adds two larger ones, three even bigger, and so on. The rhythm is what makes this book the fantastic read-aloud that it is. You can take the pace slow, then speed it up as the alligator creeps to the surface.

The illustrations are almost beautiful ... if they weren't supposed to be gross - bugs in the belly of a frog doesn't make the prettiest picture! But they sure do try.

This is one of our favorite books so far in the life-span of my 3-year-old, and we have read a lot of books. Take our word for it and try this one out.

Great Pictures 2008-02-07
In the same style as The Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly here is a frog that eats too much almost to his destruction and that of the bugs near him. Everyone learns a lesson in this book with great watercolor pictures. My 8 year old son really enjoyed this one. Recommended for ages 3-7 years.

Delightful for all ages 2008-01-19
This book was purchased for my 1-1/2 yr old grandson but is really fun to read, making it enjoyable for younger and older alike. His 4 yr old sister loved it, and the illustrations are detailed and interesting to examine closely. Highly recommended.

Delightful 2007-12-30
This is a delightful book that my children adore! I have a hard time getting my children to read any book that doesn't feature trains, trucks/cars, or construction equipment, but no arm twisting with this one. They love the rhythm, rhyme, and funny pictures. This should be a book in every preschooler's library!

Frogs, Bogs, Bugs, Slugs... 2007-11-16
What more can you ask for from a book? This is a great Karma Wilson book - some of hers nowhere near met up to my expectations after Bear Snores On (one of our family favorites) but this one is fabulous. The kids love the sing-song rhymes, and hilariously shought out "ooo, ugh!" and "Oh, My!" after each of the bugs. It has a great surprise at the end, too!

You won't mind reading this again and again... 2007-09-22
...and believe me, you will. Some books have you groaning, "Not this one" when your kids bring them up to you; this is not one of those books. It's a really fun story that you and your kids will enjoy. I have two boys, 4 and 2, and they LOVE this book and I really like reading it to them. It should be in every little library.

Agog For A Frog in the Bog 2007-05-31
I am an English teacher with a two month old daughter. This is my new favorite children's book! It's lyrical, fun, and filled with descriptive vocabulary making it appropriate for many ages. The storyline is clever without being too bizarre. The watercolors are stunning. I have ordered copies to give to my brother and sister-in-law and a work colleague.

A Frog in the Bog 2007-02-04
GREAT BOOK! A great story with some mild, nose wrinkling, yucky stuff in all of the bugs the frog eats! My 4,5 and 7 year old all enjoy this one. I like asking the Kindergarteners if they are ready for lunch after I read it to them. Great rhymes and fun pictures as well. Another fabulous book with Karma Wilson's magic touch! Great gift idea.
