Another GREAT Carter Pop-Up!
2008-02-01
This genius of pop-up has done it again! Carter's newest book, "600 Black Spots," along with "One Red Dot" and "Blue 2," is storming the pop-up world and proving that this is one seriously talented artist. Loads of fun for pop-up lovers of all ages!

AWESOME POPUP. Really intersting how popup is created and very colorful. It inspired the imagination of my grandson as I gave it to him for Christmas. Everyone was really facinated with it and it was a fun book to get.

I ordered this book for a niece and she just loved it. It was a hit with the adults also. I would recommend this to other people.

600 Black Spots: A Pop-up Book for Children of All Ages (Classic Collectible Pop-Up)
Fantastic, clever book. I'm sure my grandchildren will enjoy it - if I ever can part with it.
Artwork

Fascinating artwork. A great piece of art doesn't have to hang in a museum. This book gives enjoyment to whoever opens it. Keep it close by so your guests can open it and be amazed and you'll enjoy it again every time they do.
Cannot compare to Robert Sabuda pop-up books
2008-05-01
This book was terribly disappointing. The pop-ups are not particularly visually stimulating (nothing hidden for which to search). The paper is flimsy and did not hold up to children 1-3 years old who wanted to touch and pull on the pop-ups. The book is not of the calibur of a Robert Sabuda pop-up. Two thumbs down.
I'm definately in the minority...

Well, I'm half afraid to say this since I've read every review of this book and I am definately in the minority on this one. I hated this book. I just didn't get it. I expected to be on a little scavenger hunt looking for 600 black dots but every page told you how many dots there were. Some of the crazy words. Looking for a red dot! It stood out like a sore thumb!
I originally got this for my 2 granddaughters ages 2 & 4, but after opening it up and looking through it twice and showing it to my daughter-in-law to see if I was missing the point of it, we both agreed it was BORING! I feel it's even too boring to give to my library. It was too late to send it back, so it's laying on my dresser waiting for someone to like it, but it sure isn't going to be any of us! Save your money on this one. Instead buy a mini pop-up book called "Winter in White". We loved it!
Dots, dots, dots ...

So many crazy and beautiful dots, you cant get enough to see more of these dots and the colorful paper architecture. It is a new experience to open this book.
