An obligated referential text!
2008-07-03
In honour to the truth, the basic merit of this book, consisted on having brought to the public arena, a well though adjective, that permeated the long expected of so many parents along four decades.
With meridian clarity, the authors expose and describe pedagogically the basic facets of every case in question, how to realize ourselves about the deficit of attention, the hyper-kinetic children how to face and deal with it, and invaluable advises to achieve they got to develop without prejudices or any sort of social comments through a well reasoned system of recommendations.
Since its first release at the late eighties, this book is still a reference text, for parents, teachers and all kind of public in general, because sooner or later, you will involve direct or indirectly with these indigo children.
A must read!
ENLIGHTENING

I've heard about the Indigo children for a number of years now. After reading some of the Kryon material and Mr. Carroll's information on the Indigo's, I finally decided to order them. I should have done it long ago. I work with "different" children and this has answered many questions. I was addionally blessed when Amazon sent me an email saying, "People who have read the Indigo Children have also read "Forerunners Of The New Civilization, Indigo Adults", by Kabir Jaffe and Ritama Davidson.
I knew I had to have it, and it has been like reading my life. Many times I wept as I read confirmation after confirmation about myself. I am 69 years young and am excited about the changes that are taking place. Things may not look so good on the surface, but "Where sin abounds, Grace much more abounds". I look forward to participating in the rebuilding of the New Age. Ron
Indigo Children ~ Super Sensitive Kids

I'd like to refer anyone reading this comment to the reader who posted this review: The Quintessential Resource On Indigos, April 23, 2005...scroll back and take a look. They said everything perfectly! Why be redundant?
I would like to clear up, though, the misconception that seems to be floating out there that these kids don't need boundaries, guidance. That's totally untrue. They DO. Moreso than the other children. These children need these things to grow up to be respectful adults. If not, they WILL grow up thinking it's a free for all. Yes, they are different..yes, they require tons more patience, but they are sooo worth it!
I hate labels. Of any kind. ADD, ADHD...even Indigo, Crystal, Rainbow, etc. Personally, I feel these children should be called "Super Sensitive Kids". By that, I'm talking about their inner energy and needing to channel it properly; anyway, that is for another topic:~) Please read the book with an open mind.

A wealth of knowledge-extremely helpful when communicating with indigo children. A ray of light on such a difficult topic.
Complete garbage

This is an utter and total waste of time and money. Be real to yourself and your child, get some professional advice, not this pathetic drivel.
I hate this book

An Indigo Child is a child who displays new and unusual psychological attributes that reveal a pattern of behavior generally undocumented before. This pattern has factors that suggest that parents and teachers change their treatment and upbringing of these special kids in order to achieve balance.
I am so sad

As an early childhood educator I am extrememly concerned at the popularity of this idea. "Kryon and his earthly messengers" have made over 2.5 million dollars from these books and self-help seminars (one site offers a recorded message that you can listen to by phone for only $79!) ADD, ADHD and Aperger's Syndrome are real problems that our kids face. Yes, I agree that kids today are not like we were, but doesn't every generation make that staid observation? The world moves faster every day and then we are shocked that our children struggle to keep up. Anyone with a basic knowledge of the roots of ADD and ADHD knows that they are NOT disorders of a surplus of energy but are in fact the opposite, and profiteers are making money off of parents who don't know how to help these children learn. We do them all a disservice by allowing this shameful manipulation of the very real suffering of the next generation. Shame on you.
Half-baked... just like "gifted child" programs, no support for adults?

The problem I have with a book like this isn't necessarily the premise. I agree there are some kids with a profound amount of energy, intuition, and desire to change the world. The problem I do have is with the movements as a whole, that fill a kid's head with extremely lofty ideas... and then what?
Well, nothing. You're expired goods after 18 I guess! You were apparently supposed to transcend space and time and save all of humanity and shoot roses out of your butt, but it didn't happen so let's look to the NEXT generation of children. What? Wait a minute... I'm still here.
There you have a problem to the whole new age and gifted and idealistic movements. They're looking at children and tiny blocks of time, and almost 100% abandoning everyone else's potential after the fact. No wonder Christianity is staging a guilt and hate ridden comeback... this movement simply isn't making making enough waves in institutions and suggesting what GROWN UP's can do. The new age remains insular unto itself, and the mainstream remains full of idiocy, hatred, and stupidity. I hope things change and I hope honestly some people in this realm can start proposing very long term society centered objectives, and stop saying the world will end in light beams every 10 years. (It will not, trust me.)

He spends all his time pushing his agenda...
He probably lives alone with a dog...hating everyone...
I expected something more substantial...

I do believe we are living the indigo children era. However, I think the book brings just a superficial view of the subject. It's a simple compilation of testimonials. It could have gone deeper on the indigo's phenomenon and its spiritual characteristics.
