Editorial Review
This is book 1 of the Journey of the Soul series. Sylvia says this journey is an odyssey, and is probably the most glorious journey you will ever take -- a spiritual banquet of knowledge that will fill your soul with realization and truth. Some of the subjects are: meditation, reincarnation, soulmates, etc.

As for Azna... 2008-09-26
This book is definitely a thought provoking read. And will give you a different perspective.

But my issues with it are: I don't think the Goddess was forgotten over the ages. Though I realize (in the US) if I told people "I asked the goddess for help" they would look at me as if I was odd, unless they were Wiccan. But my parents are from India and I've seen plenty of Indian movies in which the weeping protagonist will go to a Goddess statue or a female Cobra (who is supposed to be a Goddess in cobra form) and weep and ask for something and the wish gets granted. The population of Indians and the population of Chinese people (Chinese pray to the goddess Kuan Yin-goddess of Mercy) makes up a really large portion of the people on earth (since they're so many of them). And people from India have migrated to all corners of earth and continue to worship goddesses.

Also I've noticed in mythology books I buy in the US the one Hindu goddess they'll keep on mentioning is Kali. Well no one except a few priests into esoteric stuff pray to Kali (the destroyer). People in India pray to the goddesses Sita, Radha, Lakhshmi everyday.

In general though in the West only a male God is prayed to and with globalization this Western culture has been spreading. Though even in the US we do see a fair amount of statues of Athena and Aphrodite in nice parks (and in museums). And some people do say their Hail Marys. Shakespeare's plays are full of references to Greek/Roman goddesses. The muses are mentioned all the time. Paintings from the Renaissance and Enlightenment will have Greek goddesses in it. They aren't exactly worshipped (or believed in) in this form but people do still draw inspiration from the muses etc.

Plays, satire, literature, classical music draw on emotions.

In this book the father God is described as jolly and loving even though he can't intervene and answer prayers. The mother God can intervene but she's picky about who she likes "because emotion is like that." Well if I had two supervisors at work... one was jolly and loving but the other one had more power to get people promotions and stuff but was picky about who they liked, I think I'd like the jolly, loving person more even if they couldn't do anything for me.

I think I like the Chinese Kuan Yin- goddess of Mercy much more than how Azna is described and Vasudhara, The Goddess of Wealth seems nice.

I was thinking, if we're experiencing for God, and a poor spirit guide has to be stuck to us all the time, we should make the effort to experience nice things. Like when you have an out of town guest and you take them around and show them the nice places in your town where you like to hang out or you take them out to your favorite places to eat. If food on the other side has barely any taste, we should definitely go out of our way to have the yummiest food so God can experience it through us.

If because of the "negativity of earth" the charts we made might not hold true anyway, and we don't remember them anyway, we could try to make new ones. Make a list of goals, things we always wanted to do or fun things we can do so our spirit guide and God can enjoy it too.

If we are co-creators, maybe we should try to look for the good in others or on earth so we can make it pleasanter out of self fulfilling prophesy. I think we who are on earth are pretty good at being here since we can't recall it being any other way (though being on earth might seem difficult to the others on the other side) and we have equal clout as any of the dark beings. So we can make a difference. Unions made working conditions better for all of us. The civil rights movement and the suffragettes made things better for all of us.

If you lived through Darfur or Rwanda or are living in a place with drive by shootings or a place that is being bombed, okay life on earth is very bad for you. But the rest of us who can afford to buy this book, who can buy cheese cake and ice cream from the grocery store whenever we feel like it, whose only inconviences are having to get up to go to work and bills and debts and occasional unpleasant people and traffic- we'd be being very ungrateful if we said our life on earth is very bad. It's not. We have favorite TV shows, favorite songs on the radio. Things to buy and get all into. Things to get excited about. And I think most ordinary people are good decent people. (The people in power who cause wars and genocide and wide scale suffering are most likely the dark ones but they're not that many.)

The creatures who probably have the roughest time on earth are probably the animals (unless they're lucky enough to be someone's beloved pet).

Also things have not been anymore terrible than they were before the last 2000 years. 2000 years ago you'd get raided by other villages/people all the time. And in the last 2000 years we've made more technological progress than we ever have in all of earth's history.

I saw a definite difference between Sylvia's writing style and Francine's. It definitely given me a different perspective. But I can't verify how true what she is saying is. Many things do make perfect sense to me. I am a binge reader of hundreds of near death experiences. People have mentioned many things that are mentioned here like the Hall of Knowledge and the Scanning machine. I haven't seen Azna though yet in any of the near death experiences but maybe I will read about her later on. In any case when we die, we'll find out.

If what she says is true, it bothers me I can't remember anything before this life and I feel bad that for the duration I'm on earth, a soul mate doesn't get to go anywhere. Like he can't do an incarnation. I'm curious about this spirit guide of mine and about this soul mate of mine I can't recall and angels that I can't see. Enough about me, I want to know about them. What are they like? What is their favorite thing to do? I find it frustrating that my mind would block off so much. If these creatures have done stuff for me, I wouldn't be able to thank them properly because I wouldn't know what they did.

I love Sylvia Browne though and am so glad she's written these books as I'm glad when people write their near death experiences. It's like sci-fi expect it might be true!

lies,lies and more lies 2008-02-07
Sylvia Browne has come up with fantasy and managed to pawn it off on alot of uninformed people as truth. She quotes the Bible, but totally twists the meaning of what the Bible says. She does not believe that Jesus died on the cross so that we can have eternal life. She is a pyschic and the Bible clearly states to stay away from pyschics and mediums. She mixes a little truth with alot of falsehood and outright lies. She believes in re-incarnation, which the Bible does not teach.

A book that exposes the New Age, that I recommend is by Johanna Michaelsen. Her book "The beautiful Side of Evil and "Like Lambs to the Slaughter", expose alot of these lies.
I pray for Slvia Browne, because I know God loves her and everyone, but He doesn't want any of us to be deceived and that is what she is doing.

Check out the stopsylviabrowne website to see all the predictions that did not come true that she has made.

Enlightenment 2007-09-09
I found this book very informative. It anwered many of my questions on god and the creation. Now everything seems to fit into place for me.I am sharing this book with my 14 yr old grandaughter. We have recently found out that she is an empath and has psychic capabilites. The more information we can get to her the easier it will be for her to process her abilities.Sylvia rights so the average reader and seeker can understand. Loved It and have purchased the series.

Uplifting 2007-03-27
Since I find organized religion to be stiffling and over repressive I became very removed from it. Having found Sylvia and her writings I have become so much closer to God and myself. Her explainations of life and death come so much closer to what I have believed all of my life, it is so refreshing to think that all that she says can be true and it all sounds more plausible to me than anything else I have read or been told. I do know that the positive impact her writings have had on my life are undeniable.

An eye opener 2005-01-20
I was blown away reading this book. I have become a voracious reader, gobbling up everything I can get my hands on to grow spiritually. This book is easy to read, and Sylvia, along with her spirit guide, takes time to help the reader understand exactly the point she is trying to make. If anyone desires answers, or feels what they have been told is not the entire truth, I would suggest this book. It's fast to read and a pleasure.

There are some flaws 2004-12-22

Bible Thumpers Listen Up 2004-08-10
If you believe in the bible, then you must not be so close minded that you don't realize that not all books of the bible are contained in the bible. The Catholic religion has admitted to taking out books due to "the people" not needing the info. The important left out books contained info. on after life's and psycic abilites. Go and rent the movie DOGMA and learn that is the idea of God that keeps the world alive not the belief. A belief such as you have is dangerous and keeps you close minded. Our god loves all people and is NOT judging the way you think he will. Good luck and I hope your mind opens up And you stop judging others like YOUR BIBLE says not to. Think about that.

Matches with Hinduism and other non-profit beliefs 2004-07-30
Who ever is not blindly in the clutches of Christianity, Islam and Judaism, the religions of fear and retribution will find no issues with what is in this book. In fact those who are free thinkers will feel like its merely affirmation what you think should make best sense. Remember, even the worst indoctrinated amongst us intuitively speak of the dead as some one who still exist out there and not some one who lie dormant in the grave until the misrepresented judgement day.

Hinduism talks about the soul, God, oneness of all, male-female dynamics, life beyond earth, limitlessness of the size and time of creation, souls infiniteness in time, and journey of the soul in exactly the same way as Sylvia re-expresses the same to the Western audience. In Hinduism, 'OM' - the name of God is well known symbol/sound of the unmanifested form of God, the vibration sound of the highest purity.

Do not judge my reference to Hinduism as an attempt to sway towards conversion. There is no such thing in Hinduism, just pointing that the world's oldest uncorporatized religions have the same beliefs as Sylvia brings to light in her book(s).

Religions that try to establish monopoly abviously have an agenda, under those circumstances, a 6,000 yr old book or any scripture can not be fully trusted, hence the need to affirm portions of scriptures or deny their validity from spiritual Gurus such as Sylvia. Krishna himself in the scripture of Bhagwat Gita says the above all scripture is self meditation and guidance of a Guru. A Guru is not an institutionally risen leader, but a spiritually enlightened one. "One who can see". Hence leaders of Christian, Jewish and Islamic faith so easily become war mongers, and fight for themselves and their faith and not for love and knowledge and sacrifice. True spiritual leader does not ask you if you believe that Jesus is the only way (and others will go to hell), the condition for being part of the communion (a belief held closely by Bush junior).

This book is a must read. Sylvia proves herself repeatedly on The Montel show on TV in front of millions. Open yourself, please. You do not have to belong to a religion to have an identity. Fret not if you can not relate. There is an eternity for every one to reach enlightenment.

Makes you think in the right direction 2003-12-21
This book has helped me help myself aquire knowledge. But if you're like me, you must read it over and over to get all the knowledge from it. The reason is because this book "speaks" extensively about the infinite and metaphysical. If you have ever studied the metaphysical, you know how long a process it is to understand for many people, because frankly humankind is finite and physical. For instance, it's not easy for us to understand that there was never "beginning." So keep this in mind whenever reading this book. It is great! from:ghostdman@yahoo.com

6,000 Years Too Late 2003-12-05
Nice try Sylvia but the Holy Bible already has touched base on these issues.

Did Francine help write this one too?
