I wish you can put a billion stars. 2004-07-14
A friend gave me this book for my birthday. And I can safely say this was the best present I got out of everything. Pokemon fans and comic fans will like this. And it isn't that childish. And this Toshihiro guy can draw. I haven't read a good book like this in a long time. It ranks up there with the Harry Potter books.

awesome 2004-07-01
I find the pokemon tv series childish and wasn't sure If I'd like the manga but I saw the artwork was good so I said, Why not?
It turns out this book is not really like the tv series. Ash's mom and prof. oak look totally different and ash finds pikachu in this manga. He also catches different pokemon and there lots of fun humor too. This book has great art! the pokemon look so life like! I really recomend this book!

A Great manga, with a different appearence... 2001-11-05
This manga is pretty good, but all the characters looking diferent...Brock, Ash,Jessie, James, and Misty look pretty much the same, but minor character such as Ash's mom, Bill, and Professor Oak get a serious makeover...I couldn't stop laughing after I saw Professor Oak, he looks nothing like the anime guy, seeing these makeovers alone justify giving this manga a chance....^_~

The Best Comic I've Ever Read 2001-02-07
This is probably the best comic I've ever read. It's actually a four book series (The Electric Tale of Pikachu, Pikachu Shocks Back, Electic Pikachu Boogaloo and Surf's Up Pikachu). I got these when the first came out when they were magazines with flimsy covers and pages you have to be extremely careful with. When I finally got around to getting the last to parts they had finally been released in paperback. I liked the paperback so much that I bought the other two parts in paperback. I'd recommend that you get the paperback for several reasons. First of all: It's easier to store. Second: It's easier to carry around with you. The magazines are actually four different magazines each part. (So in total you would have 16 little magazines to carry around if you wanted to have them with you. A real hassle.. trust me).

The Uncensored Japanese was Better 2000-05-03
For all those people who thought this was good,, you guys don'tknow anything. I have the original Japanese Pokemon manga by OnoToshihiro. It is much better than the English. The uncensored originalworks are better. Tentomushi Comics Special prints it crisper and the paper is whiter. I would recommend the original works. I rated this Pokemon manga 3 stars because of the censorship.

Poke'mon = GREAT! 2000-01-23
I have all 4 of these books. I think they are cool, but it is not well based on the real Poke'mon. Like, for instance, in number 3, Ash battles Brock and wins EASILY, but Pikachu would have been weak against Onix and the Geodudes. And in number 1, Ash finds Pikachu under the floorboards! Really, Ash gets Pikachu from Proffeser Oak! But still, these are cool book!

Pokemon Manga is Great! 2000-01-14
Don't think that this GN is like the TV show that thousands of kids are sucked into. The manga is sooooo much better and realistic than the TV show (or the video game, or the TV show-based comics). The drawings are absolutly great (check out the Gyrados and Haunter) and slightly more mature than any other Pokemon merchandise I've seen. This comes from a 15-year old who can't stand anything else Pokemon!

A Must Read For All Pokemon Fans! 1999-12-10
I've probably read this book a million (exagerated, of course) times. The graphics are terrific and the storyline is hilarious (assuming that you are old enough to get some of the jokes). I highly reccomend that any and all true Poke-Maniacs read this story!

Great Graphics 1999-11-12
The drawings in this manga are in my opinion much better than the TV series or in any other manga I have read. The characters seem a bit more realistic and many sections are very funny.
