Great Buy 2008-08-29
When this book arrived, I went through it from cover to cover. I was very impressed by the patterns. There are so many that I want to make. Much more than I usually find in a pattern book. I recomend this book to anyone who enjoys crocheting afghans.

Beautiful, Modern, and Perfect for all skill levels. 2008-08-13
This book features Awesome blankets that anyone would want in their apartment!! The book also features instructs, what yarn was used, so that if you want to make it just like it is in the book, you can. It also rates every blanket by skill level, so you will not start something that might be too difficult for you. My only complaint is that some of the blankets aren't that big when made. You may want to buy extra yarn if you want a certain pattern to be bigger.

Buy, love it, start making blankets for all your friends.

Something for Everyone 2008-08-05
I'll get this out of the way right now, the cover afghan is AMAZING. Utterly gorgeous. There are several others in the first section of the book that my jaw dropped upon first glance, so really there are some lovely afghans in here.

Yes, the romance section is a little blah, but I think of it more like there being something for everyone in this book. Whether it's daring or traditional, you will find something that fits your style.

I'm just getting back into crochet after knitting and spinning stole me away for several years, and this is one of the first books I bought to beef up my crochet library. Truly a solid addition to your shelf, my only gripes being I like books that are spiral bound and I wish that the blocks (when called for) were charted so I could just follow along visually.

Great Book 2008-06-18
This is a good book for beginners as well s advanced lots of beautiful afghans well illustrated and instructional as well.

How to make an old pattern into a new afghan. 2008-06-16
The patterns in this book are just gorgeous. The techniques are the same old thing, but they are presented in a new way with new ideas. The afghans you make with these patterns may sound like the old thing, but they are not going to look like all the other ones.

Thank you for updated patterns. Now we can make afghans that no one has seen hundreds of times before. You took the "ho-hum" out of crocheting again!

A Favorite Afghan book of mine. 2008-06-07

Disappointing Rehash 2008-05-20
I bought this book sight unseen on the strength of the customer reviews. I was so disappointed. The cover afghan is nice, but the rest of the patterns fall into two categories: old patterns I'd seen hundreds of times in different colors or yarns; or new patterns that were more busy than pretty. People, wake up! There's no prize for using the most ugly colors. The color choices in almost all of the patterns was just plain loud and gaudy, the kind of stuff that gives crocheting a bad name. The kind of thing that makes folks say, "Grandma, you shouldn't have," with heartfelt sincerity.

WOW! 2008-05-05
What a great book... I received it today and found at least 25 afghans that I would love to make; I never find that many in any book! I love that many of the patterns use common yarns (i.e. available at walmart or your local craft store). I love the colors and textures shown, but would also readily substitute my own colors - the patterns seem straight forward and user friendly (I must finish up a few (okay, about 10) projects before I dig in and choose a pattern to start with!)
Love this book :o)

Oh, this wonderful book . . . 2008-05-03
I have so many crochet afghan books I don't possibly know what to do with them all. I've been crocheting for nearly 30 years, and in that time, I have found that many of the patterns in my collection of books and assorted patterns are very much like each other in many ways. Crochet is beautiful, but like fashion, some looks are dated, others are timeless.

When beginning a new project, I tend to go online and look for something different. My books seem to consist of rehashed similar patterns. While classic, the adventurous side of me likes to take on something completely new. I was drawn to the pattern on the front of the book.

This book takes many classic patterns and updates them in unique and amazing ways. When I received it, I was excited to see the various color combinations and different stitch combinations. With gorgeous patterns ranging from easy to experienced, there's something in here for everyone on your gift giving list. There are four categories: Classics Updated; I'll Take Romance; Big Hook, Big Style; and Cuddle-Up Cuties. There really is something in here for everyone.

My hope was to find patterns to use to clear out my overflowing stash of yarn, and this book will make that happen for me this year. It's been a long time since I've been excited about an afghan pattern book, and this one delivers beyond.

great patterns 2008-04-15
I just received this book so I have not done any of the afghans yet but the patterns are really amazing. There are many different types of patterns from vintage to modern and from simple to lavish designs with varying skills levels so any crocheter can find a project. The instructions seem easy to follow. The patterns use many different types of yarn and ribbon to make unique works of art. There is even a kids/baby section. I wish I had time to make them all!
