errors errors everywhere 2008-03-12
I would not recommend you buy this book. There were so many spelling and grammar errors that it was hard to decipher what the questions were asking. Some of the answers to questions were wrong and showed contradiction, which made me very uncomfortable trusting other things this book had to say. There is also no writing section to practice or any information on doing well on this section of the exam. The only good thing I have to say is that it did show me some of the things I should study.

HORRIBLE 2008-02-21
This Book is THE worst study guide available. Like others have stated, this is the only book available as a study guide for the CST Students with Disabilities and what a shame for all of us who rely on these books for added support and study materials. The book is filled with mistakes: grammatical errors, incorrectly marked answers and complete nonsense. I called the number in the book to ask for a refund and the young man who I spoke to was extremely rude. He told me I would have to return the book to the place I bought it from. I explained to him the mistakes in the book and he offered no excuse or apology. When I told him that Borders would not accept a return because it was obvious by the binder that the book had been fully read, and that it was not Borders fault in providing for sale it its store such a poorly edited book, he then finally offered me the address to request a refund directly from XAM itself, and then he hung up on me. Please do yourself a favor and do not waste your money on this book.

Not worth the money 2008-02-08
Although this book does have good information, the book is filled with typographical errors. There are questions that have no answers. There are words that are so badly misspelled that you actually have to stop and try to figure out what they are talking about. There are missing words in sentences, so again you have to guess the missing words. The book is way over priced for its quality.

Bad book 2007-10-18
This book does not help for the test. The practice test does not have any questions from the test, so it does not help at all. Bad book for the test

HAPPY CUNY STUDENT - I WILL PASS THE CST!!!! 2007-09-13
This book is a great resource for special educators. I think this book can be used as a reference in the classroom as well as for test preparation. I like the fact that this book explores all the aspects of special education and especially the laws. Being a special educator, I can relate with many of the scenario questions.

If you want a book without typos, skip this purchase... 2007-09-06

Not Perfect, but it Helps 2007-07-09
Does this book have typos? - YES
Are the postest questions comparable to the Test? - NO

HOWEVER, aside from the practice questions, the information presented in this book (not the practice questions) is thorough and helped me pass the CST by 30 points after failing the first try by 2 points! Not all of the information is relevant but the book does a great job summarizing many areas tested on the CST. If you fail the first time around, definitely buy this book - it will help. Pay close attention to the roles of specialists in special education section (ex. school psychologists). These types of questions were on BOTH TESTS!

Horrible 2007-05-13
This book is to help prepare teachers for one of the state tests. There are so many spelling errors and gramatical errors that it takes away from the content of the book. You begin to focus on it after a while. Also the book repeats itself so much. You pay $70 for a book that really only needs less than half the pages it has. After I took the test i realized that not very much of the information on the test was in the book. I do not recommend this book

This book was pretty good. 2007-05-13
This is the only sp ed. review book for the CST so I got it . It did have some mistakes , typos and grammar errors but that didnt bother me to much . This book would be worth $15 but not the $65 I paid for .

Could have been wosrt, but... 2007-02-24
You can do without purchasing this book. The biggest turn off was the great number of typographic and grammatical errors, case in point:pg.199,227,251,296,303,330, just to name a few. Even the answer key for the MCQ's was not accurate. This book is copyrighted in 2007, it makes you wonder if it was ever edited. POOR JOB!
Overall the content was very general and repetitve. Probably less than five of the MCQ questions were a fair representation of the real exam. My advice, if you are enrolled or was enrolled in a course for special education any introductory course text book will suffice. This book is not worth it!
