how clever!

What a super cute gift... even more fun for mom than for baby! terribly witty.
Very cool.

I love this book. I bought this one and Eco Babies Wear Green. I read it to my two-year old son and he loves it. For him the pictures are nice, for me I love the tongue-in-cheek humor. That baby is sooo cool (and his mommy must be too). These are definitely activities I want my son to be interested in. Granted, I do take my son to yoga and I jog with him in the stroller, but I want him to be interested in the other things the baby does in this book such as going to a galleries and eating at nice restaurants (without throwing stuff).
A must-have for today's modern babe!

As soon as I saw this book (before my daughter was born), I knew I had to have it! The concept alone sold it on me, and the clever copy and cute illustrations are fabulous! It's unique and refreshing--a breath of fresh air. I love it! A perfect gift for contemporary couples ... for city-dwelling playmates ... or for yourself! Very cool!
Adorable boardbook!

I love this series! The artist has a style that is adorable. Finding a board book that is worth buying isn't easy, and this is one that I would recommend for little ones. Moms and Dad won't mind the humor either. When I gave this book to a friend, she had a fit over it - loved it!! I went on to buy several of the others.
Could there be any beter indication that civilization is doomed?

I need to talk to the head librarian, and inquire why unbelievably shallow tripe like this is being stocked in our library. "Urban babies wear black" - what sortof narrow thinking spawned something so petty and worthless? It's one thing to teach babies about colors and animals, but to teach children to be shallow?
Awful.
Love it!

Infantus urbanus (defn.): Young mammal raised in city environment. Infantus urbanus love nights at the opera, modern architecture, and fine cuisine. Difficult to spot at night due to their penchant for black clothing. See also URBAN BABIES.

So cute!

It's a gentle, sweet parody of the sort of "urban baby" trend. Urban babies do yoga, jog, drink latte .... it's cute, and not too hard on those parents who don't really want to give up on their funky lifestyles. (Because why should they have to?)
I love this book and bought it for friends who are having their first baby in their warehouse condo!
Simply Delightful!

As a mother of two in Seattle, and owner of this book, I think that it is a sweet depiction of child-rearing in the city. I was actually just going online to purchase another copy for a friend's shower next week. I am surprised that some of these reviewers see this small book with only twenty words as an entire indictment of the upper middle class. I don't know how taking your child to a coffee shop or a museum makes you "obnoxious" and/or "pretentious". I would say it that it is a fair statement to say that parents everywhere want the best for their children - for them to be well cared-for and well-educated - what should be considered loathsome about that?

My two little girls love this book and the new one, Country Babies Wear Plaid. The illustrations are so sweet. Both books are such nice examples of highlighting the differences between raising kids around the country.
