Such a simple thing -- Such SUPER FUN!

BUY THIS BOOK!! That's the best advice I can give you if you need to keep young children totally and happily absorbed for hours and days on end!

There are more than a dozen projects here, along with all the materials needed to create them. There's no need to purchase tape or glue -- it's all here. The illustrations are great, the instructions are very, very clear so that children will have no trouble at all working independently.

What a wonderful fun craft book to develop creativity while having a fabulous time! I can't recommend it highly enough.

Perfect for Creative Kids + Restaurants

We bring this book with us when we go out to restaurants. It's easily portable because of the pockets for the scissors. The scissors are kid-friendly but still need a little supervision because they're a little sharp. The book keeps my four-year-old entertained for quite a while. Definitely recommend it to kids who are 3.5yrs or older. I've purchased five of them, to give as birthday presents, too!

Lots of fun for my scissor-loving preschooler

My almost 5 year old will do anything to use scissors. He was very excited about getting 2 different kinds of scissors and a whole book to cut up. The straight scissors are hard for him to line up, but he doesn't really care if the lines aren't perfect. There are lots of different activities in the book and I thought this was well worth it, though we went through the book pretty quickly.

I really like this as a gift or for my kids. It has fun, easy, creative ideas and allows kids to practice their scissor skills at the same time.

In all, there are 13 projects in The Super Scissors Book with fully illustrated, crystal-clear instructions so simple even a parent could follow them. Fantastic book for preschoolers

We purchased this book for our four-year-old daughter for Christmas based on the glowing reviews on this site. They were right on target. Our daughter set aside her other Christmas presents and focused on this book for two DAYS (not minutes or hours). We had also bought a family game to play that was only appropriate for our older daughter and the 4-year-old was happy as a clam cutting away next to us while we played. She was able to do most of the activities completely independently, with just a little of my reading over her shoulder for a few instructions on a few tasks. Wonderful product.

Matthew, 4, came to stay with me for a couple of days and we had tons of fun "cutting up this book." The chain was beautiful, and there were lots of fun things to make. This book gives you hours of very worthwhile activities and really helps the young ones become proficient in using scissors.

WE love all of the chicken socks books- especially this one! Excellent projects to make using scissors so much fun- your little one will want to do all of them in one day!

Amazing rainy day or travel entertainment

I bought this for my craft-loving four year old before a vacation. She loved it so much that the first two days of our stay on a farm, she hardly went outside. She was too busy cutting out the parts to make daisy chains, finger-puppets, curly snakes, paper pets, masks etc. When she first asked me for help with gluing the parts for the daisy chain I had the sudden horrible thought that I hadn't brought tape or glue. Happily, flipping through the book I discovered at the back 100 pieces of precut tape ready to peel off and perfect for 4-year-old fingers. After that she worked completely independently and did most of the projects in the book as well as many of her own including paper dolls with daisy chain legs and arms etc. (There is lots of extra tape). She was completely entertained with this activity and the total use was 3 days (now only shreds remain). I recommend this book 100% to any craft loving four-year-old and have already bought one as a present for my daughter's best friend.

Caveat: If you want to bring this as a carry-on item you will need to cut the bag holding the scissors open first (it can only be opened with something sharp, which you won't have with you by the time the airline people take away your nail scissors!) Also, the security people examined these child-safe scissors very carefully before allowing us to take them on. They are completely blunt so they let me keep them. I would hope that all agents would be that reasonable...
