Editorial Review
Shiver me timbers! Here's a treasure trove of activities no child will be able to resist. A friendly pirate shares his secrets and an ordinary bedroom becomes a captain's cabin, a box becomes a treasure chest, and messages get sent to friends in code. The fun and games continue with suggestions for making pirate costumes, building a model ship, and planning a rollicking pirate party. There's plenty of information about real pirates too!

Beautiful but...

This book is beautiful and would be a great present for a boy between 9-12, it's a little advanced though.
Have a great pirate party with this book

I bought this book for my granddaughter's birthday party and we had a great time. There are some wonderful and somewhat easy ideas for things to make. I would recommend this book for anybody planning a Pirate Birthday party.
The Great Pirate Activity Book

This book is a light, general overview of piracy for younger readers. The craft and game suggestions are targeted for dedicated stretches of time within a longer party. I did find a couple ideas to use as "giveaways" with my piratical presentations for libraries and parties.
read age limit

Great book, but I did not pay close enough attention to the reccommended age limit. It really is a bit too much for my 7 year old. 9 years and up is accurate. It is a very fun book though, with lots of activities and things to make.
Two Hooks Up!

My kids and I love this book. There were so many cute ideas, several parties worth. Pirates are a hit with most kids and this book uses this theme combined with simple objects to make things that kids will think are awesome. I especially liked the recipes, the place cards, the ideas to make with salt dough, and the pirate facts throughout the book.
