I'm confused about this one...
2008-08-29
Before I start, let me clear up something.I am about as open minded as a person can get.And the reason I'm this way is because of some incredible experiences I have gone through in my life. And quite a few of those experiences did involve UFO's and alien abductions. So even before I started reading a single page of this book,I already wanted to love it.I love hearing someone share their experiences about this subject,it's nice to know there are other people out there who have an understanding of something like this.
As I said,I am open minded...BUT I'm not gullible either.
This book started out pretty good, but it doesn't take much time before it seems far-fetched.Something that really bothered me is when he is talking about learning this alien alphabet. On one page he is shown this letter and these aliens are telling him "YOU MUST LEARN THIS!" and they basically torture him when he refuses and yells at them. Then on the very next page,he says his vision "was a blur".Now,I don't know,Maybe I'm just confused here. But how can this guy remember the symbol (which is shown in the book),or even know what is going on in the first place,if his vision was a complete blur?I don't get it,but then again maybe I'm just reading it the wrong way.
Then the book has it's ups and downs. Some of it makes sense, but then it will go back to being way out there (like I stated above).I do believe in alien healers 100%,and I thought the story he told about that was interesting.
So in the end,I'm just not sure.Jim's experiences with aliens have been very different from mine for the most part,so I can't call him a liar just because I haven't seen or felt the same things he has.But at the same time I can't help but feel a little suspicious about some of the things he talks about.
I'll probably read this again, and will try reading it from a different view point instead of my own.If my opinion changes for better or worse,I'll add it onto this review.
New ufo information for tomorrow's future

A straight forward book by a courageous American.
There are only a handful of people who have really served their country in these days and times.
We are getting so close to first contact by ordinary citizens who will make a treaty with the visitors in order to get help with our environmental problems. The visitors tried the military and the governments of world powers but the military only wants to know how to make advanced weapons, etc. OUR PLANET IS DYING, PEOPLE!
Jim explains that we will have to offer amnesty to those in power and that is a hard pill to swallow when the truth comes out and it will, but it is the only way. We will need these people to keep running things through the transition necessary until we have developed the new technologies with help from the visitors to clean up our ENVIRONMENT FIRST.
Look how the living ocean has reacted lately. We need to learn to respect, love, and be thankful to our water supplies.
[...]
Jim has also published the alien alphabet. When we learn this from the aliens we are capable of learning tremendous amounts of knowledge in a very short time. The aliens are here to help us save our planet. In exchange we have something that they need thus a Treaty or Trade Agreement is in demand. The sooner the better. We both have something to offer each other.
Let's save our children, grandchildren, and future generations along with our natural resources, animals and plant life. Let's clean up our planet. It might be too late already to reverse the process. We are living in the END TIMES and it started with 9/11. Look around you at what is happening. Those who have ears hear. Look at the signs around you. HOW much longer can this planet survive if something isn't done right now? Look to the heavens for a sign.
Thank you, Jim for writing a book that everyone needs to read.
I wish the Inner Core godspeed and good luck! People, also read Streiber's books. It is the same message!!
terrible writing

This is interesting subject matter, whether you believe in ETs or not. Sparks includes a lot of details from his experiences. An entertaining book. My complaint, which unfortunately made it difficult to resist flipping through some of the filler: the writing stinks! Sparks should definitely have had a ghost writer on this.
Compelling reading for those with an open mind

I'd heard Jim Sparks several times as a guest on Coast to Coast AM, so a lot of this story was already familiar to me. It's an easy read and went into details that the radio interviews didn't allow time for. I think Jim is telling the truth, at least as he sees it. In reading it I find that it's hard to understand the motivation of the "ET's" with whom Jim is dealing. Jim also points out their penchant for creating illusions through mental manipulation, so I find it hard to separate the reality of his experiences from the screen jobs.
There's no doubt in my mind that Jim is dealing with something extraordinary. I'm fascinated by his story and have been lead to do a lot of brainstorming after reading it. It's too bad that there's a stigma in our culture about sharing stories like this. I'm convinced that ther are a lot more out there who've undergone this sort of experience, but are afraid to share it because of ridicule.
This book was awesome!

The reason I loved this book wasn't just because I believe Aliens exist, it was because it was easy to read and he got to the point fast and didn't waste time with pointless chatter like you get in some books. He just wrote about his experiences and what happened between him and the Aliens and thats what I wanted to hear. There were some really surprising parts in the book that I didn't expect and that made it a good read. And since he was conscious and remembered everything that happened it made it hard for me to put it down.
I cant wait to read his next book.
Fascinating/Thought Provoking

Jim Sparks's account of a decade of consciously remembered encounters with intelligent alien beings provides one of the richest and most detailed documentations of all abduction history. He has been given a sobering message for humanity: our planet is dying.
Fascinating Read

This book is about the most interesting of its type that I've read. Jim Sparks comes across as credible and honest. His writing is straightforward and what he discusses is mindboggling. He seemingly discredits himself at the end by talking about men from the future. I feel these humans he had contact with after he went public with his story are possibly men from our government out to discredit him. Along with "Above Top Secret" by Timothy Good, the best read in ufology.
A MUST HAVE!!!!

I just wish that everybody could read this book. The most informative book I have read in my life..........
The Keepers: an alien Message for the Human Race.

I felt that most of the book was on the painful experiences of the abductions...the last chapter or so covered the positive events of the purpose of writing the book. His lectures that are so well received would have been a welcome part of the manuscript.

After the phenomenal success of books by early pioneers of the abduction history genre, there has been a steady stream of similar accounts, most written by the abductees themselves, that ceaselessly replicate the same findings. The fact that these accounts are so similar is a large part of their probable veracity; one never ceases to be amazed at how different people from all over the world encounter the same creatures, endure the same invasive medical procedures, suffer the same trauma, and achieve the same cathartic breakthroughs.
Such is the case with Jim Sparks and his first-person abduction history, The Keepers. While Sparks admittedly recounts much of what has come to be called the "standard abduction scenario," there is also sufficient new material here to keep things interesting. For instance, he has not required hypnotic regression to retrieve his memories. He also has detailed recall of being taught an alien alphabet as a precursor to a more formal telepathic communication.
Anger is another common reaction to the abduction experience, and in Sparks' case, the rage includes shouting obscenities at the aliens, who then paralyze his mouth, after which he would scream psychically at them. But happily, Sparks comes to feel his experiences ultimately served a good purpose.
The message for humanity promised in the title is basically a reiteration of the often-heard warnings of encroaching environmental collapse, which UFO contactees have been preaching about since the 1950s. In any case, Sparks has done a great job of telling his story and, in spite of so many familiar abduction history elements, The Keepers is an engrossing page-turner.
