I do not believe there might ever be anything nice and good enough to say that recognize the geniuses of JOHN BELUSHI and DAN AYKROID, at their best ever in this unforgettable movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The CD is well done, however, I was searching for soundtrack from the movie that wasn't on this CD so I was a little disappointed.
An all star lineup in a great CD!

I am still a fan of this movie but the music is AWESOME! John and Dan did a splendid rendition of "Sweet Home Chicago" that stands out of one of the best selections in this collection! The late James Brown adds an awesome power in The Old Landmark that should make your hands clap!Ray Charles and Aretha Franklin were first rate with their selections. We can't forget the musical legend Cab Calloway with Minnie the Moocher! Great Movie...Great C.D.! This rocks!!

Good music from a truly funny film. Aretha at her finest. Belushi can sing! Great interprettions of Chicago style blues. A must have for your soundtrack or pop collection. Good party record too.
The Holy Grail of "Musicals"

Is it possible for anyone to dislike the soundtrack to one of the greatest musical films of all time??? From the opening track of "She Caught the Katy" to the closing track of "Jailhouse Rock", the Blues Brothers deliver a solid performance on each and every song on the album. While the movie and soundtrack are obviously comical (i.e "Theme from Rawhide", and if you disagree, you've got some obvious developmental issues with your funny bone), the music is nothing less than great. Yes, I realize that Dan and John might not be the greatest singers/musicians of all time, but what they did for R&B has been more prolific not only for R&B, but for music as a whole in our great United States. I'd love to see anyone pull off (now) what Jake and Elwood did in their time. I think G. Love & Special Sauce are great, as I do John Spencer, but what Jake and Elwood did for American music in the late 70's and early 80's has been unparalleled. Don't get me wrong, I love Jake and Elwood, but the Blues Brothers band is definitely more talented than the "Brothers". Knowing the history of the band, it's hard to ignore the talent of the band, and not give "props" to Cropper, Dunn, etc. I don't care what a anyone else "thinks", this is a great album!!!

The CD and case were in perfect condition with This Brothers Soundtrack. I think of the movie when I listen to it and I'm very pleased.
Great Movie, Great Soundtrack

The Blues Brothers do it again with their second album to go along with their big screen debut. The Blues Brothers' Band is just as good as the first album but this time they have added great guest appearances to make it even better. When you add greats like Ray Charles, Cab Calloway, and Aretha Franklin how can you go wrong?
What a disappointment!

"The Blues Brothers" film has two of the transcendant moments of rock & soul music - Aretha Franklin's revisiting "Think" and Ray Charles' high octane take on "Shake a Tail Feather." So why, on this soundtrack CD, did the producers choose other versions? And what's with all the fadeouts? It's not like there wasn't room on the cd. The Ray Charles recording has much less energy than the one on the film, and the Franklin cut doesn't seem as tight. Plus "Jailhouse Rock" omits most of the solos. This could be a great soundtrack, but it deserves a much better treatment than it receives here.
Classic songs

You can't go wrong with the Peter Gunn theme, Minnie the Moocher, and Rawhide. Those 3 take you right back into the movie and justify the cost of the CD right there, then the other classics are icing on the cake. Required CD for anyone who loved that cult classic movie.

My aerobic instructor used this music in our class. The workout was so much fun. I saw the movie a long time ago and it bought back fond memories. I purchased the recording and have enjoyed listening to it over and over again. I'm now thinking of buying the movie. It's a classic!
