Editorial Review
1993 Geffen release, the band's final studio album with the 7:33 long 'Gallons Of Rubbing Alcohol Flow Through The Strip' added as a bonus track that is listed on the back inlay of the jewel case, but is hidden on the disc itself, since the CD scans only 12 tracks. 13 tracks total, also including the alternative hits 'All Apologies', 'Heart- Shaped Box', 'Milk It' and 'Rape Me'. The CD is a color picture disc.

#1 Nirvana album..... 2007-12-01
If you could only buy one Nirvana studio-album, this is it!!! I am a huge Nirvana fan, love all of their stuff. If this was the only album that they had ever made... I'd still consider them better than The Doors any day! Best track: Scentless Apprentice.... enjoy ;-)

A must have 2007-10-13
In Utero is Nirvana's last studio album, and here they tried to get away from the polished sound, and commercial success of Nevermind. This record is raw and reactionary. It seems like a lot of the songs are responses to what was going on in Kurt Cobain's life at the time, specifically songs like Rape Me and All Apologies. it's a great record that contains some of Cobain's best songs; Heart-Shaped Box, Dumb, Pennyroyal Tea, and All Apologies. Listen to the lyrics, they are all brilliant.

Great CD 2007-10-10

Good album for a collection 2007-10-07
The Nirvana fans are somehow divided in as much as the conception and the perception of Nirvana music is concerned in this case. In my opinion at least. This album brings us a completely new grunge first of all and then a new Nirvana (music) sound. The quality of the recordings on this album is very high and the songs are also great. It is not like Nevermind where we have got four singles on one label but the songs on In utero are also good or at least we should listen to them and try to realize that the band had changed in time and in ambitions, the songwriter (almost on every song) Kurt had had a different points of view in making this album and then the chances are what we have got left here. The good album in any case. The song Serve the servants opens the album with a moaning chorus: 'Serve the servants, oh no!', then the single from this album Heart-shaped box is as good as every Nevermind single (at least it's so to me), Rape me, Dumb and All apologies are what should be called the new Nirvana music and/or sound to all of us and what is expected to be singles in my case. Many good songs, new sound, good recordings quality, inspiring melodies and riffs for every guitar player and/or a music bible for Nirvana fans. Where should had gone it all we will never know but it might seem the ending of something that was always us and someone who was the one. R.I.P Kurt Cobain.

The Masterpieces Keep Coming For Nirvana 2007-09-07
Nirvana's In Utero is kind of follow up album everyone hopes for. It's totally different from the light hearted Nevermind. Yet, it's a great example of a band refocusing themselves and putting out consecutive stellar pieces of work. I may even like it more than I like Nevermind.

Serve the Servants 4/5
Scentless Apprentice 5/5
Heart-Shaped Box 5/5
Rape Me 5/5
Frances Farmer Will Have Revenge on Seattle 4.5/5
Dumb 5/5
Very Ape 5/5
Milk It 5/5
Pennyroyal Tea 5/5
Radio Friendly Unit Shifter 5/5
tourette's 3.5/5
All Apologies 5/5

A Must Have

no one was this good! 2008-07-02
yaknow to all that use their brains can easily see why Nirvana was so great.

they embody everything a great rock band should have. amazing front man with amazing song writing abillities, an amazing drummer and a sound all their own that didnt suck!

this is a brash Cd with harsh tones with catchy songs that stick in your head with great lyrics.

Simply the Worst 2008-06-17
The other day a cat got jammed in my fanbelt when I was driving down the street and it sounded better than this abysmal album.

The irony is that Nirvana...for all their phony anti-establishment nonsense...is nothing more than Britney Spears or Ashlee Simpson (or really Johnny Bravo from the Brady Bunch) talentless hacks who just so happened to fit the costume when the record industry was pushing their latest money making scheme....in the early 1990's the new fad was "I hate my parents; being a loser is cool" rock. To say this album is awful is like saying eating human dung makes your breath unpleasant.

Honeslty, give your money to the CIA before you buy this album...at least they torture for a purpose.

kurt for ever 2008-05-19
The new generation should really try this album. And then listen again to their Fall Out Boy cd's. Bet they never play FOB again!

A Rock Classic 2008-04-27
This was a very good album, and definetly more personal than Nevermind.
It definetly has a rougher, more abrasive and dense sound that will turn some listeners off, and others waaay on! Kurt touches on topics such as the record industry, drug abuse, loss, parental alienation, and his relationship with Courtney Love. Of course, there's the straight riffs with signature nonsense lyrics thrown in. While the album is great, it isn't as catchy and doesn't have the same replay value as Nevermind, probably because the music itself just doesn't sound as varied and pop-oriented. Nonetheless, this is definetly an album to have, and is a landmark piece of the 1990s. Buy it and love it

Kurt Cobain was a genious ? 2007-12-27
If he was he didn't show it in his music, poor musical structure, bad lyrics, ugly sound. Nothing interesting in this cd.
If you are very frustrated about society and you feel rejected, try to get some help with a professionnal. This music won't lift you up !
